No way is he better than an on form Ben Arfa. Ben Arfa's inconsistent, but shows glimpses of world class quality, whereas Sessegnon is consistently great.
I think its impossible to look past Sess at the moment, simply down to Ben Arfas slow recovery from a horrendous injury coupled with trying to accommodate him in a team thats been in the top seven all season. Give it a season and we can compare properly.
I dont know why we are comparing them Sessegnon is now a striker and Ben Arfa is a midfielder who I have to say was very good when he came on today
Ben Arfa, Coloccini and Ba are the three most naturally gifted players in our team no doubt about it.
And that is Ben Arfa's problem, he wants to score a goal of the season every time he gets the ball. Mignolets save was routine not world class, had it been then fair enough, take the shot. Sessegnon seems to have a better idea of what the best ball to play is for the benefit of the team. Saying that I'd still take ben arfa.
Ben Arfa played really well yesterday and looked the part, but and this is a BIG but. I dont think he would have had an impact like that if he had started the game. He would have been shut out and not had as much of the ball. Its easy to look good as an attacker when you have so much of the ball like newcastle did in the second half.
Ben Arfa did look good second half when he came on. Sess looked good first half and tbh most of the season, so Sess has been consistent and has been important for us in gaining points. For all Ben Arfa, looked good he did not score or make a pass that led to a goal. The player of yous that I like, and I guess it is no surprise is Ba. ATM we are stuck with Bendtner and Ba is streets ahead of him
Although on his day HBA is streets ahead of Sessenmong which says alot about how devastating HBA can be, until he starts doing it consistently Sess will have to be considered better.
Im sick of hearing about Sess vs Ben Arfa bollocks. We love Sess you love your player now piss off with your **** craic!!
I agree with Teesside on this one. Whenever HBA has a good game we're gonna bring this **** up, and whenever Sess plays well the Mackems will say it. My personal belief is that when Ben Arfa is at his best he's better than Sess at his best, but the gap isn't huge.
Sess plays as the 2nd striker and from what I have seen of Ben Arfa he has been playing right wing both two very good players in there own right all these newcastle fans gloating about our defeat tonight, wonder how they got on in the quarter final
