    It was only ever in the eyes of Newcastle fans that he done anything wrong, so it was never on the cards..

    bit unfair to call for a ban then. Players should only be repremanded on actual fouls, not one that was intended but missed, in the heat of the game its impossible to tell what is intended and what isnt. alot of it is fear tactics

    Law is only intent is required though. Anyway the original thread was partly tongue in cheek as I was keep to see one of their better players missing. And partly because I feel quite a few players have been handed bans this year despite there being doubt of their intent at the time. Reality being a I saw little wrong. Inconsistency fromt he FA is hugely frustrating though.

    Isn't this what happened to cabaye though and balotelli, they got banned for intent not for connecting with the player
