Will be announced on brexit day....
I have it on good authority that I knar absolutely fukall.
Well they do say ignorance is bliss
Seem to remember someone saying ffp doesn't exist for league 1, even along the lines of restrictions like it I think we've enough to buy a couple of players if needed.
That it is....
Carlsbergs so good (****e) they hate to see it leave
On 6 month contracts lol
I'm sure I read somewhere that it's not season by season it's over a rolling amount of time so if we we're to spend here it would then limit out spending next season as the FFP in championship should look at however much we've spend over x period of time.
Someone will know better than myself but I'm sure it goes something like that.
GG has a good take on this
Everyone needs to forget about the investment for now. It's just disappointing every day you think it's going to be announced and it doesn't happen.....One day we'll all have a nice surprise when the club announce it on the website or their twitter feed. Looking forward to tomorrow anyway. Rugby, then Man City Villa, then the lads v Shrewsbury
The way I understand it is that in L1 you are limited to salary costs of 60% of income (including new investment income - not shares being sold between shareholders). So it could be a case of needing to sell to buy in January.
In Championship they look at 3 year (rolling) losses and restrict you to £5m per year, plus another £8m per year if it's invested by owners (not loaned). So if we made a loss this year (e.g. due to big transfer fees and extra wages after spending investment money), it would have a knock on effect in the Championship for a couple of years.
Or SD could just be a tight arse according to some (KM & Chris the Accountant), so who knows!
.......and we all know that will never happen!
Yes that was along the lines of what I had heard hence why we can't spend too much as if we go up we will breach FFP.
I would imagine the past few years we have been losing money left right and centre so that needs to be sorted out first.
I've come to accept the takeover/investment won't be announced on a Friday.
It'll put my mind at rest, thinking about the future.. It won't be very bright without meaningful investment.
I'm so pissed off with it all, it's done and it's going to be huge, it's off, it's going to be announced tomorrow, SD has mucked it all up and it's all off, it's back on but now it's only investment rather than a takeover, it was never a takeover and only ever investment, etc, etc.
Now I am so punch drunk that I don't care - I've gone all 'This is Sunderland and no lasting good happens to us'

I'll see your monkey and raise you a gorilla!
Looks like another long weekend of hope
I take your point and understand people's impatience.
I totally believe its a done deal so am only waiting for the announcement.
That's bad enough so waiting to see if it's all true must be excruciating.
Thankfully I have faith in Parkinson to ignore it all and prepare the team properly.
Yeah totally agree on the field we looked ruthless the announcement is like waiting for Christmas when I was a bairn
