I tried that but it flopped like Pancho's proposed appearance on This is your life.

Wish this would hurry up... if it does fall through I doubt SD will do that talk in.

Getting a bit confused as to whats going on at the minute as there seems to be a war of words between several sets of individuals, and how people are interpreting news/snippets/leaks/bollocks. In the short space of time Ive skimmed through both boards you could possibly sum it up like this.
The deal is done but not entirely finalised, and there's a couple of stumbling blocks/potenital banana skins that could let the deal unravel live a ball of wool. Some concerns regarding certain individuals still at the club AND some that aren't, The consortium are happy to proceed but arent due to the recent performances and dullard fans. Newcastle have become a fly in the ointment as it seems to be more financially viable to achieve/retain premiership satus with an established brand, but that's not concrete as there's a lot of 'commitment' to achieving the same with Sunderland.
Seriously its one of them now... wait until the wait is done... we are just sat hoping for good news and relief of a brighter future or we are served up a dish which will be one of the hardest things to swallow and we've swallowed some ****e for years (and Ive talked some too of course admittedly). As current form stands, we are slowly, nay quickly, becoming the laughing stock of this league for all the wrong reasons.
Im at the point now Id be happy to be taken over by a paper bag as long as the football improved. Tuesday I'm just hoping for a little bit of light relief, taking comfort in the knowledge that another humiliating defeat wont have any adverse effect on our 'promotion' campaign

^This^ It isn't the results as much, it's the fact that we don't compete. All I ask of the players we have is that they have some fighting spirit and give their best on the pitch. I'd then be 'singing my heart out for the lads'.

This plainly isn't happening. We see occasional glimpses and then the team collapses, or just don't show up at all. That is where the despondency comes from. Dross served up time after time with no hope for any change.

I used to go along with the phrase 'it's the hope that kills you!' Without even that hope to remind yourself that things could get better, what more is there to do for us fans but get angry at the person who is supposed to inspire the players, to bring them together and bring out the best in them - the manager!

Today has gone (in my own head) from being a day or two from completion to completely gutted.

Don't think the takeover and new manager bounce is going to help us this season... If there's no takeover and new manager I wonder where this is going to hit the club worst? Away fans might drop off, hardcore of home fans will keep rocking up to the SOL, next season, the third in the 3rd division might hit home the most. It all seems like a long painful death that most won't have the stomach for, the infighting will tear us apart. Now where's those chilled takeover drinks I've had in the back of the fridge...

I really hope if it did fall through that it wasn't because SD insisted that he wanted to stay on.

To be blunt there's been nothing negative other than our own wild imaginings.

The Americans have flown over twice at least, been to the match and made themselves visible, went to the AOL, registered a company at the SOL and even started following us on social media.

Yet, like gay boy scouts telling late night ghost stories, we've managed to give ourselves the willies <laugh>

Since SD spoke after the Consett talk-in there has been nothing except a few snippets from 'itk's'. The owner has gone very quiet......for whatever reason.
So in that respect I'm working on the assumption that "No news us good news"
Fingers crossed. We need to be like Uri Geller. Positive thinking.
