    From BBC Sport:

Clegg: "Unfortunately his outstanding commitment has not been rewarded by results on the pitch and, having spoken with Paul at length, we feel it's best for him and the club if we go our separate ways."

No Clegg. It would be best if you both went the same way. Now far cough.

I have just watched the interview that Clegg gave on the itfc website and I am already cringing, god it was just embarassing! He seems to have ruled out a rookie manager (which I actually agree with) and has also seemed to have ruled out an Ex-Ipswich player (which I also agree with). **** I actually agree with the man! <yikes>

With the position we find ourselves in, now is not the time for a rookie with no experience of managing a club of olur size. Now is the time for a wiser and older head to come in and sort out the fractious dressing room once and for all. No to Curbishley, he is finished in management as he has been out of the game for too long. Yes to either Mick McCarthy or Billy Davis and even Owen Coyle would be a good shout.

Owen Coyle would be the compromise or 'the happy medium' because the both Mick and Billy are old haunts on the manager merry go round whereas Owen Coyle is still relatively 'up and coming' (to a degree) having been in management for 8 or 9 years opposed to the others who have had the past glories, well and truly in the past (similar to Jewell)

How about another left field suggestion.... Dennis Wise.
I do know that he wants to get back into mangement, and he would be relatively cheap to sign.

First things first, we need to clean the axe wound - Hutchings needs to go too.

and then i would be happy enough to promote from within. Ok, this current bunch are far from legends but i think it would give us some continuity/stabilty/long-termism that we all crave.

With that in mind, if i were ME i would appoint Klug for the season and tell Edwards and Kennedy to do there coaching badges (though as i type this im beginning to wonder if kennedys coaching has influenced this seasons performances) With a view to get them into the management team.

However, i more than see the value of an outside appointment to bring in new ideas, and give the squad the boost of a fresh start.

I think there are some boxes that ME needs ticking.
    -Previous management experience
-Big name to retain media coverage for his brand.

so with them in mind, i get this feeling we'll be going back to a former big name player
and two names spring to mind that, unfortunately aren't very inspiring.

    Tony Adams
    Gareth Southgate

i've got to say, the likes of tony adams and dennis wise are surprising suggestions. i'm damn sure you can do better than both of those! paul jewell is better than both of those!!! i always felt southgate would make a good manager - he always talked sense as a player - i was wrong. i thought he did a poor job at boro and should stick toi the punditry

Was killed by putting all his eggs in the 'Alfonso Alves basket' who was disastrous for his £12m price tag. Other than some poor signings he was an average manager who played some average football. Not a crowd pleaser - even here at Portman Road

I've heard favourites are Curbishly or Coyle and with how little faith I have in Clegg and ME, I'd say we could do alot worse. I think they'd both fit but they do both come with negatives!!

I really don't want to see a Dennis Wise or Alan Shearer or Tony Adams, not good managers and both probs think they're bigger than the club!! As Supers says PJ is better than these.

I thought Southgate was decent enough and Middlesborough shouldn't have sacked him when they did or they should've at least appointed a better manager than Strachan. He talks alot of sense, but wouldn't be overly pleased with him here, he may well go one to be a good manager in the future but not enough backbone or experience for me atm to get us out of this situation!!
