I've gone through Wikipedia's list of serial killers more than once. A bloke called Albert Fish stood out for me.

 

When you read about serial killers you find it absolutely baffling how some got away with it for so long, due to shear luck or police incompetence. I know back in the day police had to literally rely on draw fulls of paperwork rather than computer systems to make links, but ****ing hell!!

 

Sometimes the more famous the crimes became the more the problems for the police having to go through every lead which were often tenuous or dead ends, or just plain bullshit. Like looking for a needle in a haystack. Yorkshire Ripper a prime example. In the end caught by an unrelated routine stop and search of his car.

Peter Sutcliffe only got caught as he he a dodgy light.

They always get caughr by simple errors

 

The best are never caught these faecal just the stupid low scoring killers

 

I can think of 3 - Jack the Ripper, Bela Kiss and The Zodiac Killer.

Out of those I think the first two was down to luck perhaps. ZK was definitely clever enough to get away with it.

Never heard of this one . I've been admiring the work of gerard Schaefer he used to kill two girls at a time , make them beg why the other should die first, make them deficate and urninate over him and then disenbowl one in front of the other before decapitation and returning to the site to have sex with their corpses and even masterbate over their bones in good time.
