Pretty close, but even I didn't think they'd let in 6. But they surprised me with that goal. Has Coleman resigned yet. I'd be too embarrassed to stay if I was the manager.
Well I'm glad that shower of ****e is over (until the next embarrassing episode) , the quality is just not there in both management and players ,
Those same players were performing for Gary Speed. Coleman is clueless. Sack the twat now before he embarasses our country even further. You had Gunter and Mathews at full back and Ricketts on the bench. Who would be a better option than either.
Players fault in my opinion. I'd take the captaincy off Ramsey, he's not playing like a captain he's playing for himself.....tonight was shocking, the amount of times he gave the ball away attempting passes that weren't there when he had the simple option. Once I saw him give the ball away just outside their box (poorly) and then sit down....the commentator was kind and said he was possibly injured, but he managed to get up and amble back in time to watch Serbia score their 6th from the resulting attack. One of 2 goals we conceded due to Ramsey chucking the ball away. Even Bale gave the ball away cheaply, 1 goal was a direct result of him playing a god awful pass. Out of character for him though. The reality is we are weak at the back and that would be the case if Speed were manager too. Gunter, Matthews, Blake and whoever plays in goals (of the 3 fit keepers at the mo) are nowhere near good enough. I feel sorry for Coleman, even though I would have made different selections and formations, losing 6-1 was not his fault.
Really? The players have a massive part in it for sure, but the manager has to take responsibility and answer why the same players who did so well previously are less motivated under him. Motivation is the manager's job, right? We looked awful front to back and like it or not the fact remains that under Coleman we've gone back 20 years. So much for the golden generation. The problem lies firstly in the schools where rugby is still rammed down the kids' throats. Then we have the less than useless FAW whose setup is really not fit for purpose (and I speak from experience). Welsh kids don't get the guidance or support in football that English kids get. The LOW is a joke, with a standard barely above Sunday League. Anyone still think the FAW shouldn't be done away with and we merge with England? Just like in cricket, we could cheer on a team that might actually win something whilst still rooting for the talented Welsh boys to do well (as with Team GB). Radical yes, but face facts - nationalistic pride has made us a laughing stock yet again. Problem is that the grey suits at the FAW won't give up any power and the English don't want us anyway. And why would they? They're probably going to qualify. Again.
We cant just blame Coleman and use him as an excuse as the problem stems from the top on how they run welsh football. we have had some well established club managers who have done well at some huge clubs but the minute they come under the umbrella of the WFA they cant do the job, there is not one manager who has been able to get the team to qualify for anything....Now I find that very strange as some smaller nations like us do qualify sometimes. There has to be something wrong in the way the WFA are running welsh football as even with law of averages one of the managers over the last 40 odd years surely would have reached at least one qualification......For us to Blame coleman is such an easy cop out because it wont matter who the manager is he wont get us anywhere......for us to keep on blaming the manager will get us nowhere and we should all demand everyone who represents the WFA earning a decent wage regardless if we win lose or draw they are the ones who needs to lose their jobs if we are to get anywhere......
My Wales team if all are fit next time out would be;- ------------------Hennessy------------------- --------------Collins----Williams------------- Ricketts----------------------------B. Davies -------------Allen-----Vaughan-------------- Bellamy---------Ramsey--------------Bale -----------------Morrison-------------------- Subs that I'd actually want to use;- Gabbiddon, Jazz Richards, Collison, Church (up front, not on the wing), Earnshaw. Subs I'd only use begrudgingly;- Matthews, Gunter, Ledley, Crofts, David Edwards, Robson-Kanu, Vokes. (Is Obeng Welsh?) If I was making decisions for the FAW I'd be getting as many Coaches and former Coaches of Swansea involved as possible and trying to play in exactly the same style....it's been proven to get you results greater than the sum of your parts. I feel we should all be getting behind the boys regardless of results. Small nations have to pull together to achieve anything on an International stage.
Dai, but progres was being made under Speed. we were actually winning games and moving up the rankings. Coleman has the same players, same resources. But it i clear he doent have the dressing room or he doesnt have a clue. I will leave it up to the indivdual to decide. He hould never have been given the job. As for the FAW kj i am with you. Get rid of the lot and start again. But then they like their free trip around the world and everything that goes with it. But it i time for all the old dithering adiots to go as well.
Me too. He's keeping his head down at the mo. Can't think why. Mabs supports Wales ahead of the Swans so it must be torture for him. As for me, I'm switching to England. MORE INCOMING!!!!
Coleman said "We knew it was going to be difficult, but we didn't see this coming,". LOL. He should have asked me. If he didn't see it coming then that is proof that he has no idea what he's doing.
If you go back through every manager over the last 40 years you will see that speed did nothing some others had done like sparky, yorath and they end up walking or getting the sack. winning meaningless friendly matches gives us false hope because when it comes to the real games we are put back in our place as a rubbish team, We have had some of the best players in the world and some managers who have managed and won competitions so speed never done anything special other than win a few friendly games....Speed was on the verge of quitting wales....did you know that? Why we will never know now but he was obviously unhappy about something....
agree 100% with you there terrorwit the manager must of course take part of the blame but even if you have a clueless manager with no tactical knowledge, at the very least players should close down and do the basics right, they didnt do that. for the goal (4th) the ball was lost and the 3 centre mids ambled back, whilst the serbians were sprinting into the box to get on the end of the cut back, which they scored from. trundles left foot - 'Those same players were performing for Gary Speed.' correct, but are you saying that it was due to good tactics, or that he got them giving 100% and wanting to pull on the shirt? probably both, but for me, the latter of those 2 should be a given, the absolute minimum for any footballer. knackered: 'answer why the same players who did so well previously are less motivated under him. Motivation is the manager's job, right? ' if your not fully motivated to pull on the shirt then why bother turning up is what i'd say to that. a manager should never have to motivate players, and if he has to then it says alot about the players mindset.
