September Fixtures.

  • The games are coming thick and fast in September five games by the end of,the month. Three home games should be a help. But I'm concerned about how many goals we are likely to concede. Even being at home last night would have made no difference as it would have suited derby even more as we'd be more gung ho.
    This pushing the full backs high up to play like midfielders just doesn't work fora team like us. It must be summat coaches are trying to copy off Pep. It didn't work for him either. If I was Dawson I'd be into see the manager this morning and talk him through English football and what works. Fulham will hammer us if we carry on with that formation. Irrespective of who plays.

    So five games a possible fifteen points. What do you think?


    Fulham v Hull City. Loss.

    Hull City v Sunderland. Win.

    Reading v Hull City. Loss.

    Hull City v Preston. Win

    HullCity v Birmingham. Loss.

    Hope I'm wrong and Leo is a quick learner. Couple of gritty away draws and we're back on track.

    If he plays growshitski, a CF, Bowen up top he really needs three strong centre midfields who can cover the ground. Meyler, Larsson, Irvine.

Agree - especially the midfield - although I think we'll take the points in the Brum game. If he plays Henrickson instead of Meyler, then Slutsky needs his head testing. What is the point of Henrickson? What does he see in him that we don't?

Slut might be all smiley in front of the cameras and in the public eye but I guarantee behind closed doors, he's not someone you will **** with.

Hard lessons will be learned and we'll improve dramatically.

15 points. 5 games? So, 20 goals for us, obviously.

Perhaps Happy, but he seems not to have understood that you can't play Championship football with a lightweight/ineffective midfield. This is not the first game where it was obvious that Meyler should have been on. I think Slutsky is ok and his record speaks for itself, BUT he needs to lose the idea that Henrickson offers anything at all. I bet Hudd's couldn't believe his luck last night.
 
I can see us struggling for another 4-6 weeks until players get used to each others game and Leo gets his philosophy across, and learns you can't take the championship lightly. After that hopefully things will start to improve, and hope we are not to far behind at this point.

I don't see us being anywhere near the play offs

I do Seriously worry about the season after this.
It' almost feels like a company winding down.

Funny how many good players we sign that turn out to be ****. It's almost like we don't know how to play them. Or where to play them. Honestly, can you remember the last time we had a manager who didn't play people completely out of position?

He's been played in advanced roles and was largely ineffective .. he has now been played as a holding midfielder and he has been ineffective .. he is lightweight slow and totally INEFFECTIVE .. offers nothing going forward or defensively .. sum total .. he is ****

The last time he was played in an advanced position he did well. Play him as a holding midfielder (out of position) and he's obviously going to be ineffective. He isn't a utility player, but that shouldn't be held against him. We need to abandon this skewed vision that if they aren't superb for us then they're **** footballers, he was one of the best players in the Dutch league when we signed him, don't be so ridiculous.

Slutsky needs to find a system that suits the players he's got. Bruce did it in his first season. The players we had then suited 3 at the back and I think that's the formation that would suit us best now as well.

I know why he plays Henriksen cos when we're in possession around the half way line he drops back almost in a RB position and Aina pushes up. Maybe Slutsky thinks Henriksen is more composed on the ball and can pick a pass. The only problem is if we lose possession in this situation then Aina is hopelessly out of position.

Fulham on Wednesday is going to be another test.
