john jameson, cricketer, 84. warwickshire batsman (and occasional bowler) scored nearly 19,000 first class runs in a 16 year career. played four tests and three odis for england. managed to finish his england career with a bowling average of only 17, after taking one for seventeen from seven overs in the only innings he bowled in.

achieved his best score - 240no - against gloucestershire in 1974 in partnership with rohan kanhai (213no) as they compiled an unbeaten 465 partnership. this remains the highest 2nd wicket stand in the county championship. warwickshire declared on 465/1 and gloucestershire managed 243 (hemmings 6/87) and 162 (blenkiron 4/18, willis 4/31) in reply.

he had a bad habit of being run out. he was run out three times in his first four england innings, making him the first england player to be run out twice in one test.

Not ashamed to say Robert Redford.. a beautiful man... RIP

I concur, TC, another icon of my growing up gone. A sad loss to the film industry. Thanks, Robert Redford, for the memories, “All the President’s Men,” say no more…..…the “Indecent Proposal” :emoticon-0152-heart:emoticon-0152-heart I remember clearly watching this at the pictures (cinema for the younger ones!) Without wishing to lower the RIP tone, it was a yes from me.

RIP Robert Redford <rose><peacedove>
