I like that idea. You just gotta hope that if your team loses the shoot out, it doesn't throw them off for the rest of the game.
2) Reduce the number of players to five each. Classic! Who doesn't love a good 5-a-side? They could still use the full pitch, would be quality. Quality idea..... have sudden death extra time and every 5 minutes a player gets removed from your team down to a minimum of 5..... Would out the pressure on the manager too...Does he take of defenders first or attackers.... id watch it
You got unlucky with the timing. So, how many World Cups would England have won without the penalty shoot-out? Probably just the one. We'd have found some other way to shoot ourselves in the foot!
I love the pre-match shoot-out and 5 a side ideas. How about playing without a goalkeeper in extra time!
Don't mind the 5-a-side idea, but not the prematch penalty shoot out. Could affect the way the game is played in extra time (don't think it would affect the initial 90 min) and rob the fans of excitement at the same time. People have to realise that life isn't always fair...there can be late goals totally against the run of play in any match.
Wait so for years the English have been losing penalty shoot outs and it has been ok? Now a German Team loses agains our Plucky Brits and its time these horrible situations are outlawed. **** off blatter you twat.
Nobody as British as Drogba! However, I do get your point. No one jumps on a bandwagon as quickly as Blatter.
I love penalty shoot outs, the drama is unrivalled IMO. Even though I don't support Chelsea watching the champs league final my heart was in my mouth throughout the whole of the shootout. Blatter is useless, when is he going to resign?
While I heartily agree with the general consensus here that Bepp Splatter is complete fruitcake, I feel I must put my tick with the camp that would like to see an alternative to penalties. Back on the old 606 I made a suggestion (which met mixed feelings) that ('golden goal') extra time should be played in segments of, say 5 or 7 minutes, with both sides having to remove a player at the start of each segment. If the game is still going after 4 segments (28 minutes) both sides would be down to 7 players, with the chances of the game lasting much longer very unlikely because of the masses of space that will now be on the pitch.
I'm also no fan of Blatter, but that's not the issue. Anyone that argues for penalties being a fair way to settle a football match... really!!!??? Say I'm a defender having slogged my guts out to keep a clean sheet for 120 minutes only to see all my hard work ruined due to one lone penalty hitting the bar. I've never liked penalties as a way of settling a match and never will. I'd prefer a count of shots on target - less exciting but much fairer.
Love the extra time idea of every 5 minutes a player gets brought off until it's 5 a side! Let's make a petition
I also like the taking players off every 5 mins... Who decides which players are removed? The team's manager....or the opposition's manager
He is only saying this because an english team (Chelsea) won on penalties and he hates England and everything about it.
