Surely the biggest stage is the Champions League? After all, in pretty much all the big European leagues the best domestic team would piss all over the national team...

About the same as most of the England players...not a lot.

However as a far as a 'face' for their respective clubs goes (see KPR nonsense as above), comparing Lampard, pretty much the model professional with a cheat and jumped up little thug like Suarez is laughable and that's before we even get into their respective honours won.

says you. I think you'll find that for most people the biggest stage is still used to refer to the World Cup followed by European Championship/Copa America.

I don't see how you can compare Lampard/Rooney's careers to Suarez' if I'm honest. All I can say on Suarez is that every high profile team he's been in (Ajax, Liverpool & Uruguay) he's been one of the best players in the competitions the teams have participated in.

International tournaments have the most pressure but the champions league has higher quality.

No you can't compare them. Lampard and Rooney have been 2 of the best players in the P.L and Europe for the last 7-8 years. Saurez is a good player but still has a lot to achieve. But that aside, I would suggest KPR/clown shoes refrains from dismissing Rooney and Lampard as 'fat' given their achievements. It just comes off as desperate and bitter.

    Calm down love.

I feel no need to defend Rooney but I await with interest evidence of cheating on Lampard's behalf. And I expect it to be actually proof not opinion and to the level of the handball Suarez pulled off in the World Cup costing Ghana a semi final place.

    Tick tock.

Maybe, but then that would probably be because the World Cup is open to all nations whilst the Champions League is only European. So people from Asia, South America etc will obviously care more about the World Cup. But over the past 15-20 years there have been an increasingly large number of managers and players claiming the CL is technically better, more competitive and much harder to win than the World Cup.

He's done well in his career thus far, but then the quality of the Dutch League hardly compares to the EPL and he's never played in the CL. Suarez did great at the Copa America, but he wasn't even Uruguay's best player in the World Cup. Doesn't really compare to Rooney and Lampard, who over the past seven years have been the two most effective players in the PL in terms of goals and assists per season, and have both played at the highest level of the CL.

What a truly pathetic post,Lampard has dived to gain Chelsea the advantage in games and thats cheating lad whether you think so or not,as for the saurez handball,is it any worse than Robben feigning injury to get Reina sent of etc etc etc?.

If we are being totally accurate Suarez did not cost Ghana a semi final place. For his offence he was sent off and Ghana failed with the penalty that was awarded. Hence Ghana lost themselves a place in the semi final of the World Cup.

hahaha I agree with the Uruguay bit but Ajax was the best team in the league and the Dutch league isnt great. And it doesnt take much to be the best player in the Europa League.... but he's definitely a good player (top 20 in the league). but that's a matter of opinion, i guess some with think he's top 20 in the world.

Proof of the Lampard diving please not conjecture. We have video evidence that Suarez is a cheat and a jumped up little headbutting thug. Anyway, many a player goes down a little easy now and then (see Gerrard who one of the worst offenders), worlds apart from headbutting a fellow pro or 'that' handball.

That sound you can hear is the arse falling out of your argument.

Suarez isn't fit to be the 'face' of anything let alone a great club like Liverpool.

So if Suarez hadn't have handled the ball and therefore it would have gone in and therefore been a goal. Who would have played in the semi final? I think you will find he did cost them a place with his cheating as did Gyan by missing the resultant penalty.

Anything else truely obvious that needs explaining?

I can't answer for him. Even Swarbs is getting a bit silly now!

However, the way that all top clubs secure their commercial future is a topic that will be returned to - hopefully with a more considered debate.

So, in the light of the present mayhem:

In International terms, Rooney and Lampard have achieved sod all. Suarez has.
