My lad is a dedicated ex-season ticket at ManU and when chatting to him yesterday he blandly said he wanted us to win as he could not bare to lose the final to City. Only quoting him and grandson. There could very well be masses of tickets for sale in the home areas as in his time (he gave up about 3 years ago) ManU demand that season ticket holders register and pay for ALL competitions then and there. If you opt out from one then there is no final ticket for any other competition, including Europe. This is done within two weeks of the end of season. I found this a mercenary situation tantamount to blackmail, but apparently all the top clubs have followed suit. Success is a costly business as my lad pointed out, but after the glory days of massive success he was spoilt by the routine of it. Trips to Wembley and abroad just became routine rather than pleasure in the end.
