Nothing will have changed mate, we've got the worst fans apparently for football related offences apart from Newcastle. I think one of the tabloids published a report detailing in depth each club across the 92 for it's offences and broken down by category, such as violence, alcohol related, pissing in phone boxes, equestrian-motivated assault etc. All I'll say is every club has it's idiots, none of us are proud of them are we? It's part of the reason I choose not to travel abroad with United to places in the eastern block, Italy and Turkey for example cos you get branded by association, and end up in sticky situations that you wouldn't end up in just on a regular trip to that city. I can't be bothered with it, next thing you know you're doing bird in some Krakow hell-hole for defending yourself!
agreed, all clubs have proper knobs fella - who are best left to their own devices. Funnily enough, one of the few 'non-footballing' scrapes during my time was was with 'my own'...Coming back from a gig at the academy with a bunch of mates - guys and girls - then all of a sudden a few lads come over and start kicking off with the tail end of our group. I clock the accents and fortunately vaguely recognised one, and turns out they're all sunderland fans - high as kites - who'd obviously been to some gig and were looking for trouble, the ****ers. They were appeased, sent in the other direction, and all the birds thought I was the hero. I got lucky that night!!, but pretty ashamed of the behaviour of fellow supporters. I'm looking forward to a trip down memory lane next Tuesday, before the match. It's a shame the Lass O Gowrie has been closed temporarily. Cracking pub, and was hoping for a few ales there before the match. Any other friendly venues recommended?
SUNDERLAND will be backed by almost 9,000 supporters at Manchester United next week after selling out their ticket allocation for the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-finals. Black Cats fans faced a hefty financial outlay of at least £45 for adult tickets for the clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday, January 22. But more than a week before the second leg, Sunderland today confirmed that the away end will be full after selling all of their tickets. Sunderland are also providing free buses to Manchester and supporters wishing to use the transport must reserve their place by noon on Saturday. Gus Poyetâs side take a 2-1 lead into the second leg, as Sunderland look to reach their first major cup final since 1992.
He he.. I'm getting my dates mixed up footie wise, but getting in early for a scoot aboot! Are you gonna wing it? My mate is also in the nil-billet boat at present
The Quadrant's not a bad pub for away fans, it's in Stretford but it depends how you plan on getting to the stadium. If you're getting the train into Picadilly, I'd just get the metro down to the Deansgate locks and get a few in one of them down there, then catch the metro again on to the ground on the Altrincham line. There's Salford Quays just over the water, if you walk over the canal and towards the Lowry mall, the Lime Bar in there's fairly decent and you should get served, unlike the Bishop etc around the ground, you're likely to get nowt but a spilled pint from there before kick off. Oyster bar opposite Selfridges still does a cheap pint too, nowhere near the ground but taxi rank is just over at the Printworks, I love it in there. Edit - the Old Grapes is fairly nice and friendly too, Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth) is owner there I think, for any Corrie enthusiasts!
Damn! No mate I'm not going up there to get chucked out or end up surrounded by their lot celebrating! If I can't get an away end ticket it'll have to be the telly.

Are you speaking on behalf of 60,000 people again Terry There are United fans, on their own board, saying they think it'll be easy. As for the 2nd loudest, that may be the case when a full house is actually making some noise but I've never heard Sunderland outsung since the 3-3 draw, in the fog, in the late 70's. I'm talking about my own experience, not daft polls or whatever, and Old Trafford is generally quiet except kick off and for 5 minutes after a goal.
Whenever they score on live tv you can always see folk sat in their seats clapping, When we score everyone is off their arses.
From the pm's I've received etc I think there may be a fair few of our lot in home sections ........ as United supporters seem to think it's fine for them to do it I assume they'll be fine with the situation

I don't understand how to get a ticket on the day?! Are we talking touts outside the ground? Just go around pub asking if anyone has spare? Driving up from near Nottingham mate but only if I've got a ticket by then or if smug has rung from Manchester to say he's got one.
