Not sure my voice will hold out either, so I will sit in an adjacent block... the noise will filter round and that is the idea: they start it and we join in. Need strong voices in those blocks, we do not want a repeat of last time.
So excited now! I'll be in the singing block and screaming my little heart out! This is going to be one hell of a day! And i'm selfishly thrilled it's the sunday coz saturday was causing me all sorts of problems! Yay! COYH!!!!
A good allocation ....lets hope the whole Watford following get well behind the side ...I'm guessing by the time I can buy tickets , we will be some distance from the singing section . My aging out of tune / out of time , voice box will be stretched to its limits . Fingers crossed I'm not stranded in a sea of silent types . I hope you long serving golden oldies out there , will at least be able to muster the occasional squeak from your overused vocal cords . Should be a great day out .
It will be a must - 4PM kick-off, I just cannot imagine what to do for those 6 hours before the game!
Big decision to be made here: do I go? Had a great day out in 2013 (except for the result). The wheelchair facilties are superb and I was nice and warm in the sunshine. Three years down the line my condition is worse and any venturing outside is very weather dependent. All assuming I'm still on the database. I so want to be there. (I so want to be at any games!). I think I have to try for a ticket and wait and see how I feel on the day. Mrs GG comes for free as my carer. Bloody MS! Hard to handle at times like these.
Hope and pray that the weather is perfect and you get to see us avenge 2013 - everything is crossed for you GG.
Fingers crossed that the club will have a ticket for you, I see no reason why not if you explain your situation . If you need physical help on the day , we would be happy to assist . I have plenty of experience with wheelchairs / lifting and we can get the train from MK ...although my car is probably not big enough for 4 adults and a chair .
Very kind offer, much appreciated. However I think the journey would wipe me out before I even got to the game. If I go we'll drive up ourselves; it worked very well last time, blue badge parking close outside and all. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to apply for a ticket, I still have my club card and therefore an ID. Current thinking is to get one if I can and see how I am on the day.
Re: east end/west end wins and losses. Went in '84 and '13- lost. Missed '99, in France on holiday - won. So maybe I am the jinx. Wish I'd never thought of that. Vince Pitt, cartoonist for BSaD, used to groan if I went to games with his brother. He was convinced I was a jinx. Come to think, we bumped into them on the way to Villa Park in 2003. Oh god, it is me!
Fingers crossed you will feel up to it on the day ..and witness a far better performance than the last game against Stoke .
To make you feel you better GG, I have exactly the same record at Wembley as you even down to being on holiday in France in 99 - I didn't know the result until the following day as we were in a rural area. I was however, here in 2003 which is the only FAC SF during my lifetime I've missed. I won't be going this time though, I fly back Sunday afternoon from a weekend in Watford!
Had the same problem as you in 99. Tried to find out the score in Perigord. Strangely, no-one knew. I missed Cardiff too- France again. Perhaps I better go to France instead.
To bring the superstitions about Wembley back to reality, the last time we won a quarter-final at Arsenal we were drawn against a London team in the semi and looked what happened then. There was also the game against Leeds where there was a thought that as it was on May 4th, the anniversary of our first promotion to the top flight, that history would repeat itself. The common thing with both those games was our lack of regular keepers - does anyone know what would happen if both Gomes and Pantilimon were unavailable? I think it is unlikely we'd be able to get an experienced keeper on an emergency loan. I guess the deal with Espanyol for Arlauskis would prevent us recalling him unless it would be until the end of the season, which leaves the U21 keepers and possibly, as daft as it sounds, an emergency registration for one of the keeper coaches.
Tickets secured. Singing section block 135. Woohoo edit: I've been asked to make it clear..tickets secured...thanks to Mrs Bloother (I was stuck in traffic).
