He won POTY mainly because he was the only player we could say had been a proper servant to the club. He wasn't going to get guaranteed first team action this season, so I don't feel that his comments last year were misleading as he would've expected to be a key player, so that's why he was saying how happy he'd be to stay. Can't blame him for leaving, wish him all the best, I'll give him a very good reception when he comes back because of the work he put in for us, but all the negatives here about him being a key part of a very boring team are totally valid, so very happy to move on with a new CM as well.
To be fair, a big write up on him joining a league one rival would be short sited. They don't want to potentially upset fans by highlighting the fact he will be coming up against us next season.
I think we will miss him, whenever he is not playing there is always a really big semedo sized hole in the middle of the field. Simon Francis comes from roots hall and is rumoured to hate Millwall....
He's also going to Bournemouth. But I agree allhell. There really should have been at least a dedicated news story with some comments of thanks and appreciation, whilst pointing out he wasn't a cast iron starter for this year with the progress Powell has been making with squad recruitment. Good lick to him, we will miss him as a player and person but we wont miss him as an integral part. I don't think he's mislead us, if he could play and we could pay him he would be here
Shame that Semedo has gone, but the writing has been on the wall for some time now really, hence the need to purchase so many new midfielders which I am more than happy with by the way. Good luck to him in the future though.
AllHell Lets be honest, this new website sucks. Would have been nice if the owners could have restored the old website when they were brought in (similar to the big screen). But I guess its hard to be unique by having an independent website with the attraction of major sponsorship's on the CAFCTV one, especially during this economic climate. We can always sing - "Alonso, woahh, Alonso, woahh, He comes from Espanyol, he ****ing hates Millwall!"
