Maybe this message board, or those on it who want stability and for Selles to get a fair chance, should write an open letter to Acun asking for just that.
For me Selles football is boring, we never break when we should/can we tend to go backwards instead. Our forwards dont score goals but how many shots do they actually have either? Its not very many. He also wont get the players he wants he will get some other players that somebody else wants. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go if i am honest.
Perhaps this is something that HCST should consider. An open letter congratulating Selles and the club on survival and encouraging the club to move forward with him and give us a chance to see what he can do with a summer of preparation, and avoid any more unnecessary upheaval. I think Acun would listen.
Mike White can be overly dramatic - but Baz certainly isn't contradicting him by saying "Ruben's future is not cut and dried and there will be conversations had in the coming days". C'mon. This is the owner who thought he could do better than Rosenior - the most successful coach he's appointed yet and who's just beaten PSG. I'm expecting another unjustified sacking, another left-field wildcard-appointment whist doing the footballing equivalent of chucking the whole deck in the air and hoping it lands in a flush again this summer. Cos why wouldn't I?
If Acun got rid of Rosey due to his style of football, then expect Selles to get the chop as his style is exactly the same. Personally, I'd stick with him
What’s the point of an open letter to Acun? What would congratulating the players and selles do? Unlikely to sway his opinion and if it did, would we want decisions like that to be influenced by an open letter from the fans? Let the footballing people make the footballing decisions, it’s what they’re paid for, then judge accordingly.
its not even about making a decision for me its congratulating them for staying up can i sign it just myself?
Fans influenced a decision not to sign Cooper in the summer. Fans also influenced the decision to finally sack Walter about 4 hours after he'd backed him. Oh, and fans via his echo chambers also validated his decision to sack Rosenior.
All week it's been Acun is selling up We're going bust due to a lack of money and yet he's going to be choosing our next manager among other things.
i just think theres something toxic within the fans and its probably just online like on here, people saying the players shouldnt be celebrating after we've stayed up tell any of the away fans today and theyd think you're bonkers football careers are short and 99% of player dont lift ****ing trophies and if they cant even celebrate with fans, whats the point why would they care if they just get criticized 100% of the time
I haven't said he's selling up, I've said the club is financially in the sh*t and it would be in insurmountable financial sh*t in L1. Personally I don't see how he has the equity in the club to sell even if he wanted to.
Right so what you’re saying is, fan pressures have led him to decisions that have proved to be correct and also incorrect. The biggest mistake many fans point to in recent times is sacking rosenior and you’ve used that as en example as to when he let the fans influence him. That’s my point. Basing decisions on the will of the fans is nonsensical and no way to run a football club
