‘They’re assessing the situation’ Nice. Even if Sellés stays, what a great working relationship that will be going forward knowing your arsehole boss mulled about sacking you for over a week after you did what was asked of you.
Could be Selles is biding his time, and if, if, Acun tells him his job is safe he'll tell him to shove it. He wouldn't want for another job. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Has it officially come from the club whether Selles position was ever in doubt, or has it all been speculation? I haven’t seen anything other than press, maybe I’ve missed something?
If it is true, I think it’s disgraceful it’s even being mooted as a serious option to sack him. He kept us up. Yes, we only stayed up on goal difference but our good goal difference was due to us not conceding many goals. The only time we lost by more than a one-goal margin was when we lost 2-0 to Burnley. Only time we conceded more than two goals in a game was the 3-3 draw against Leeds. We were never battered by any other team in terms of goal difference. That ultimately kept us up and that’s a positive to build on for next season. We shipped goals under Arveladze and Rosenior made us difficult to break down by ****ing off Figueiredo and have a back four of Coyle, Jones, McLoughlin and Greaves that season. We added firepower the following season and finished 7th. Also, it’s clear the players have a good relationship with Sellés and they really didn’t like Walter. When Rosenior was sacked last May, Coyle and Greaves begged Acun to reconsider. Why sack yet another young manager who has built a good relationship with players, made us harder to score against and survived relegation? Why even consider it? If what our local media is reporting is true then it’s just another case of a dickhead owner motivated by ego treating a football club like his own fiefdom.
Give over, we were ****ing **** all season and survived by the skin of our teeth and results going in our favour in the final day. Nobody can complain if he’s given the boot. End of the day, if Luton turned over WBA last weekend everyone would be calling for his head right now just like they were after we lost to Derby the weekend before.
There's never been any doubt that they are the source of it. But they are journalists who clearly have an inside track to what's going on at the club, and it wouldn't be in their interest at all to get something like this wrong, so there is really no reason to think it's made up.
was it the fault of the recruiting or the manager? Selles team would have finished mid-table considering only his time at the club will we sack him and get another average manager and keep doing the same every six to 18 months? or should we stick with a manager who knows what he's doing?
It could be a two way street, as well as Acun considering if he wants to pull the trigger, Selles may also be seeking assurance over transfer plans etc. We simply don't know.
I remember last season someone from the club saying we had to change transfer targets because what we had lined up had to change because Rosie went and Tim came in. If Reuben goes then we are exactly the same position. Rosie got sacked because he didn’t meet the target, you then can’t sack selles when he hit the target. as I said earlier let’s hope it’s speculation and selles is safe and working on targets. When’s our retained list out ?
I don't believe they're looking into Selles, it's just those two ****ing idiots trying to justify their jobs.
