1. Why haven't you answered the question? (Are you seriously making a comparison of a (made up) player from Stockport versus someone who has 6 senior caps for Turkey and has played 140 games in their SL? Really?). Answer, because your comparison was beyond stupid. 2. How am I dying on any hill? I simply pointed out that, on paper, at the time, Sinik came with a v good track record and appeared to be an exciting signing. It didn't work out. That's it. 3. What's goal scoring got to do with it? He was (is) a young winger. Main job is to assist, provide service, etc. Jeez.
He's a good manager, but Acun isn't going to employ him after he got sacked by Sunderland for publicly criticising the DOF and recruitment strategy. In fact I don't think he'll employ anyone established with a track record in the championship. It'll be young coach he thinks he can manipulate to his will, or a wildcard from abroad like Shota or Walter.
Said it once, will say it again, the man was employed to rescue us from the shyte the former coach had put us in, he did just that by polishing a pigs ear, without potentially his most influential players, he most definitely deserves a go next season, and Acun if you are reading this, think before you pull the trigger, it's not always greener on the other side of the fence as we've already found out to our cost !
Well there’s a good number of posters who’ve absolutely piled on Baz etc this season for ‘knowing nowt’ or making guesses , they can’t have it all ways when it suits . Personally I’m sure the season inc Selles tenure ship is under review like it would be by the owners / directors of any major business , it’s good housekeeping and away of creating a cohesive strategy - god we could do with one .
It would be terrible to insult Selles with a review of his performance. He will probably walk. We will be lucky if a club like Forest, Villa or Newcastle don’t come in for him anyway.
You can review the season and where it went wrong without questioning the position of the guy who saved it. But I doubt Acun can acknowledge his own mistakes when it's easier to find a scapegoat
Baz and Mike White know **** all. There has been absolutely nothing on the mailing lists about a review on Selles’ performance.
The comparison I’m making is that if someone had the same goal return and we paid near £4m for him as a winger regardless of what division he came from it would be rightly questioned. I was being pedantic with my example but the point really remains. You said “on paper” he looked good im just pointing out that “on paper” he looks crap. Also saying “what’s goal scoring got to do with it” Christ on a bike whenever I or anyone that’s dared to mention xG as a stat the joke is the “true stat” is BIN’s. Something of which our dear Dodo is distinctly crap at doing “on paper”
All this time Sicknote has had off, does anyone know whether he's been doing owt for the Community. schoolkids teams, kids Sunday teams and such like to help justify his money he's been getting?
Feels sorry for Acun about the club wasting money on signings then defends the signing of Sinik (that Acun personally pushed for). It’s just cult-like behaviour at this point.
Let’s hope there’s some statement in the next day or so, hopefully Acun clears it all up. Then we can crack on and have a full summer putting the team together rather than starting 6 weeks behind everyone else
Sinik is the worst signing in the clubs history When you add his wages on top of the transfer fee Whats the total package
So the FACT that he'd represented Turkey at every junior level, had 6 senior appearances for Turkey and 140 appearances in the Turkish SL by the age of 22 is irrelevant ... or at least makes him comparable with 'made up player' from Stockport County. Yep, Christ on a bike!!
I raise you Bullard. And even Mason (although the assault was not his fault), but it was an enormous amount of money for us to lose. Sure there's quite a few others. Material for another thread?
