-> Has anyone actually said it's a "Selles review"? Every club will have an end of season review. Why would we be any different. Honestly, it's embarrassing some of the stuff posted on here. Well, have they? I'll help you with a clue. The answer is no. Yet I'm the one posting ****e?
He did set us up differently. He set us up to be defensively sound. 4th best defensive record after his appointment- only behind Sheff Utd, Leeds & Burnley (courtesy of fletch 1904 club pod).
The funniest thing about all of this is how quick the talk of Acun being ready to pull the plug has totally gone. The whole of the last week here was he’s gone!
You have people closer to the club than you are telling you the manager is more likely to be sacked than staying, but you think you know better based on nothing So yes, you're talking ****e.
They maybe are, and he maybe is, but a "Selles Review"? Nah, that's ****e. -> The funniest thing about all of this is how quick the talk of Acun being ready to pull the plug has totally gone. The whole of the last week here was he’s gone! Exactly. But it's me (and a couple of others) who are talking ****e apparently
I've already said I don't think he can sell the club because he has no equity in it to do so and that it would have been much worse if relegated. The fact the lesser of the two scenarios has transpired doesn't mean it's all hunky dory. And Mike White and Baz are saying the managers position is currently under review based on their connections. You're dismissing it based on blind faith and your own ego. Nothing more.
I'm not dismissing it. It could happen. I'm calling out things like it being called a 'Selles review' and it being taken as FACT that he's going. It's 'simply' an end of season review, hopefully top to bottom so to speak.
His position is under review with a change apparently more likely than not. If you want to die on a hill of semantics then knock yourself out.
I’m more concerned that our new ‘brain team’ in reviewing Selles performance think that replacing him is the best option. The only failing is in the quality of performance but surely they can see the mitigating factors and understand the benefits of stability. Not to mention how crap the squad was (particularly after injuries). The failing of the season was at the door of the owner. Walter appointment and speed and quality of summer recruitments.
Just want him to take ownership not scapegoat yet another coach for his own failings and then trust the people he's employed to do their jobs, not going off on his own tangent and effectively working against them. The definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing and expecting change, and there will be no change here with the inherent lack of stability and insane squad/coach turnover continuing.
As you've raised the word 'semantics' .... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-manager-latest-ruben-10158885 .... sounds to me like there's a bit of subtle backtracking / repositioning going on there!! "While a change could yet be made by Ilicali[,..." "he will not feature on any potential shortlist, should one be required" Only TWT.
Sounds like you're desperate to cling to anything to justify your position to me. Any idiot would know that Acun's not going to employ Mowbray after what happened at Sunderland regarding recruitment. His name's just been chucked out as a way to appease fans in preparation for another unpopular decision. We won't be getting a proven championship coach as they would stand up to the owner.
How many goals did he get in those 140 games? Why are you willing to die on this Sinik hill? He averaged a goal every 23 games. Mason Burstow has a better return than that and he’s get chastised
And, just to point out, there were plenty of idiots then on here only a few months ago!! (btw, I wasn't one of them. Nice bloke maybe though and all that).
People are more angered about Selles potentially getting sacked than they were Rosey. For me, we should keep the squad and manager as is. They need and deserve more time after their fantastic achievement this season.
