Ok, you spend you lunch break on here posting immature ****e on here. Wow! Once again, grow the **** up idiot.
Not sure he actually fully owned Shelbourne or full owns Maribor either? Differences in opinion with co-owners on direction leading to him leaving Shelbourne? Possibly majority share at Maribor, but don't think it's full ownership?
A was a majority shareholding at Shelbourne and Acun certainly think he owns Maribor, his messages to the fans are pretty much the same as ours... Dear NK Maribor fans, We promised some exciting moves in September regarding the enhancement and further development of our team, and we hope you’ve already felt the positive energy around the club. With every new player joining our ranks, we are not just building a team, but a family, connected by passion, dedication, and a desire for success. We believe that the new members will bring fresh waves of enthusiasm and optimism. Each player has been carefully selected not only for their talent and football skills but also for their commitment to giving their all for the club and its loyal supporters. Together, we are laying the foundation for a season full of unforgettable moments. Let this September mark the beginning of a wonderful chapter that will lead us all to the success we long for. But none of this would be possible without you—the beating heart of this club. Your unwavering support, your enthusiasm, and your trust in our vision are what truly drive us forward. Let’s continue this journey hand in hand, side by side, with the ultimate goal of ending the season in celebration. Let every match, every moment, be a day we will always remember! With heartfelt gratitude, Acun Ilıcalı
Any irons in the fire, in terms of incoming? Not sure proven goal scorers can be signed on VFM. Generally cost a bit if we want to make progress.
Whatever the outcome of this review, it's piss poor that it's playing out in public and going on for days like this and it will almost feel like Selles is a dead man walking even if they decide not to sack him now. And it isn't the media's fault for reporting on it. Get your **** together and make your decisions in private. We should've been clear on what we're doing within hours of the final whistle on Saturday, at the very latest. Other clubs will be working on signings already whilst we piss about putting our manager through a public evaluation process. I said something similar last summer when we were looking for a manager whilst everyone else was working on players, and that worked out great. We need to show that we have learned lessons from this season and the early indications on that front are quite troubling I think.
Trying to think who I'd be happy to get rid of Selles for. Rohl Cooper Moyes Cifuentes? Not entirely sure that they'd be worth it and I'd assume we'd have very little chance of getting them. The likelihood of improving on Selles is really small IMO.
Makes you wonder why anybody would get involved with Fener really When was the last time they won the title ? He gets a very easy ride at Hull City by comparison
This is from a Reading site, talking about how Selles transformed them after a poor start; A modern 4-2-3-1 formation, flying full-backs, inverting midfielders, rapid wingers, ball-playing centre-backs and an all-round striker, and of course that famous press. Don’t underestimate the value of having a settled starting XI either. What’s more, it’s all from using players from the academy, on frees or on loan. Now we can see how he has struggled to implement his style without a transfer window… flying full-backs - nope. A steady pro known more for his defensive work and a Centre back at full back. rapid wingers - nope. Our best wingers were all injured, forced to play central midfielders or centre forward. ball-playing centre-backs - Nope. Hughes (yes), but Jones certainly isn’t and Egan has many capabilities but I wouldn’t call him a ball player all-round striker - Maybe Pedro many years ago. Joseph - No. that famous press - we tried but again, didn’t have the personnel across the pitch to carry this out. How anyone could call for Selles head when he wasn’t anywhere near having the players to carry out his style of play. If we recruit new full backs and add pace to the team we might see a remarkable turnaround next season in the style of play. Ruben can point to his Reading transformation to back this up. Why roll the dice again?
For the state we're currently in, it could be Klopp and still be a terrible decision. We need stability.
Or maybe it's all incorrect speculation and media talk and the (needed) review isn't related to Selles but to recruitment, signings needed, who to let go, etc. in which cases there's nothing for the club to announce atm
Really? That's simply not true. Capped at every level by Turkey including 6 full caps by age 22/23. 140 games in Turkish SL. He was an exciting prospect but unfortunately didn't work out (due to injury and possibly other issues).
Acun loves drama, he makes reality TV programmes with suspense, jeopardy, success, failure, cliff hanger endings. Don't ever expect things to be mundane and boring at City. If you expect to have a quiet, mid-table season at City next season, then think again. The 'Sellés' review is all part of the Acun experience, he will have 'assets' feeding the narrative to Baz and Mike White. Supporting City isn't going to be an easy ride.
