I can’t understand why the 2,000 haven’t been snapped very quickly, given they were offered to die hard ST holders. Admittedly we have a small % of fans who live aboard and don’t attend many (any) games, but these cannot be ST holders ?
If it was a Saturday game they would have all gone yesterday. Midweek games at the Valley are notorious for being down by 2/3 thousand in home areas compared to weekends. If you are a season ticket holder and not in tier 3 then I would hang fire as the chances of getting a ticket for tomorrow night is high
Kent fans have been cut off because of the restrictions - I reckon that's more than 50% of the 4000 total
Some fans may be nervous about returning, even with all the safety measures put in place. I had just assumed the tickets would all be snapped up. If I was in the area tomorrow evening I'd think about going. But it's a long way for me to travel, and I am a bit apprehensive at present. I'll see how things go for a while.
@dick plumb If you do manage to get a ticket, TV channels want to interview our fans outside the ground before the game.
Be prepared to answer some really probing questions designed to catch you off balance... "How does it feel to be allowed back into games?" "What's your view on new owner Thomas Sandgaard?" "How do you think Charlton will get on this evening?" Real David Frost calibre stuff. They might even ask what you thought of the lockdown. Try not to get a bit sarcastic with them though. That only works for Gordon Strachan.
Hope those 606 Members with a Golden Ticket enjoy the return to the Valley tonight. You cannot beat the old place. A shrine to football.
Indeed. Unlike the rest of you I didn't support Charlton from an early age, I was a floater for 4 years after coming to London, but on my first visit to the Valley, a 0-3 loss to QPR in 1975, I started cheering them on immediately. The Valley really does have a unique atmosphere.
