The general feeling talking to others around me yesterday was that we are where we are and any legal action would harm the Club. I spoke to a former colleague who is now a judge and he reckons the Trust haven't got a prayer anyway. I was never a contract lawyer so I've no idea if he's right, but I guess so. We have to start performing on the field and that's what's concerning most people, not the backroom stuff. Don't shoot the messenger.
I'd agree. Unless there was a realistic chance of clawing back a few million for the Trust, then legal action would be pointless. Do we really want the Club drawn into a long, futile legal process? No. It's time to move on, realise that the Trust is now a toothless organisation when it comes to any major decisions and hope that we can finish this season still in the Premier League. We won't forget the actions of the Old Board members though.
If the Trust have a strong legal case then they should use it to get leverage back on the board. it has to be done for the long term security of the club, and the board will not want a legal battle and will settle for the Trust having input, it's a no brainer, and I hope the trust are vigorous in going for it................
I would seem that Kaplan and Levien are not going to involve the trust or the fans in any of their plans, which i am sure include developing the staduim. Dont be surprised if they opt out of the Liberty stadium and build a new one elsewhere. There will be little investment in the team and a whole load of debt piled on the club. Its standard business practice,it might work out but it is high risk.
When we first started the trust i was as kean as mustard to be involved and i was prepared to back my keeness by with others to start things off and donated a significant amount of money and the eagerness between us and the club was at an all time high....The club so they stated did not have a pot to Pi$$ in and we were struggling to pay wages. Trundle was called to the office and was told that the wursels have offered a million quid for him and we had no choice he was reluctantly sold. The Trust worked very hard in raising funds every which way we could and even going around with Buckets home and away to get money.....The team started to do their bit on the pitch and the clubs Accountants were working hard cutting costs. Things were on the up and the relationship between the trust and the club could not be better......But as the years went by and the club was climbing the leagues that closeness was weakening as if we were not a part anymore and it got to a point where board meetings were taking place and we never knew anything about them and the excuse was it was a voting meeting and as we had no vote it was pointless telling us.....well you can imajine there was an almighty row between us and the club as this is not what we were promised and we felt as if we had been kicked in the teeth but we were powerless to do anything and for me that was the end of my time in the trust. i with others felt the club has let us down after all the early work we did....you know the rest about not telling us the morgans were looking for a buyer and a buyer being found and sold to them......that was the straw that broke the camels back as far as i was concerned.....we were treated badly but due to the terms of the trust shares we have no leg to stand on...
My wife and I met John Hollins and his wife walking the dog along the cliffs at Caswell (They have a flat there) about the time Laudrup was about to be sacked. He seemed in the know about it so i asked him about his own departure and he told me about driving down to Swansea for the creditors meeting (which he was owed a large amount of money) he bears no grudges and he still loves the Swans and the area. Real football people roll with it as it was all part of the game but we are now in the hands of speculators and investors God help us!
He has a holiday home in caswell newportswan.....He fell in love with the area esspecially the Gower while at the swans. You will often see him there and not only summer time when he has free time....A Gentelman...
Did you know Hollywood actor Richard Dreyfuss also has a flat in the area? Langland I think... Just saying.
I know most haven't been fond of my OPINIONS the past 5 or so months on Jenkins and the board ( not rumours ), its hard to have unsubstantiated opinion From trying to put up the appearance the Americans were only buying 60% ( while gathering voting rights I assume in secret, I mean everything about this takeover was secret wasn't it ) , to trying to get the trust to sign waivers to agreements smells of conflict of interest toward the past shareholders " Making a bundle " at the expense of the trust shares . I guess we will see where Jenkins lands over all this in 6 months from now ....my guess is somewhere in South America ....lol
Don't think he will be able to show his face in Swansea, where once he would have been lauded by everyone around Swansea and wouldn't have had to put his hand in his pocket, but he chose to put his hand in the fans pocket.
Sorry lefty about recent behavior , even I know Im a bit of " Loose Cannon ", its just hard to watch the club take that wrong turn IMO at the fork in the road its was shown . The old owners took the turn with the mansions and didn't care what they left in their wake ... BUT , I am confident about on field activities the next bit ...time will tell eh ...cheers
Certainly wasn't apologising to you aussie , but it is like you to pretend something happened . Hope your tree is on a hill ...
