I still think he’s the right man long term, but have been really disappointed with him being unable to get the best out of the players we have, we often don’t appear to play as a team, and seem disorganised. We are also very boring to watch.
Most of what's said on here regarding the deep workings of BCFC are beyond my understanding due mainly to my distance from the source and lack of real insight on the day to day happenings. Having said that, along with my posts over many years, makes me frustrated as to why we have never met the standard to reach the supposed heights required by our owner in chief. Each of us have our own ideas regarding our perennial failures and it would be interesting to me to understand where the root problem truly lies. Here is my list of potential, possible and probable causes: 1. Executive management lack of attention. 2. Managerial appointments. 3. Managerial constraints or control. 4. Poor decisions by managers on tactics or line up. 5. Wrong personnel making wrong decisions. 6. Overall lack of commitment by the club. 7. Bristol City FC being put down the pecking order within Bristol Sports. There are most certainly other factors to be considered but from where I look it probably is a mixed up combination of all those items listed.
agree with the right calibre of manager ... but would question he is the right person / one? hindsight is magical ....... but not knowing is like "will the rabbit actually appear!" DH first few months as manager and on a losing streak .... would / could Middsbro and Swansea been his ending of it, and would we have ended the season in 7th or indeed 6th or 8th ??
