    When you first think about it, yes it sounds like a good idea, but you start to realise, no it wouldn't really work.

    Firstly in the championship for example, the majority of teams have rather small teams, and already play 46 games in the league alone, not to mention carling cup, and fa cup.

    Secondly who would play in it? because the top teams would be getting promoted so it would have to be teams who lose the play offs. Meaning its teams who are ambitious for promotion, meaning that an extra competition would really harm their chances at promotion.

    Don't think this would work.
