A 17-year-old footballer has been arrested over allegations about sectarian comments posted on a social media website.
The Cowdenbeath FC player, understood to be Michael Fleming, has also been disciplined by the club.
A Twitter account which is said to have been used to post insulting comments about Rangers fans has been removed from the site.
A spokeswoman for Fife Constabulary confirmed that an arrest had been made.

Club statement
She said: "A 17-year-old male has been arrested in relation to alleged sectarian comments made over a social media website.
"A report in relation to this will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
The chairman of Cowdenbeath FC is Donald Findlay QC, a former vice-chairman of Rangers.
