I've been drawn to more articles on Secretatiat and, because they are educational I decided to post a references to them

In particular they educate us on what factors contribute to the performance of the thoroughbred and use Secretariat, and other thoroughbreds, to illustrate the importance of these factors.

I'll have read of that soon Ron, thanks for posting it. I read today of a gent who attends sales for clients. He takes with him an offsider. They arrive before the sales and each look over about a 150 yearling each, then narrow it down to about 20-30 before even looking at their blood lines. I've often wondered about the physicality v breeding. Look at Secretariat's build, a massive stride and a heart nearly two and a half time larger than the usual. That has to be a huge step in the right direction.
