    Me as I am old. I can remember halfpennies but am to young to remember farthings being in use, although I had some as a kid. They went out in 1960

    is a crown like 10 shillings?
    a pound is 20 shillings?

    a crown was 5 shillings, half a crown was 2 shillings and sixpence. 10 shillings and £ were both notes Threepenny bits used to be silver, then became a bronze type colour

    that makes more sense to add up the 20 shillings to a pound. 4 crowns in a pound?

    Remember the half pence and the shilling coin but if I remember rightly it was used as 5p from my earliest memory.

    Yes... I remember the half penny going away just about. Post Office used to sell half penny sweets at the time. I was very young at the time. Barely had a concept of money.

    I also remember using shillings as 5p (never as in old money).
