Maybe you should ask yourself why.

what abuse have i given lone to anyone who has not abused me..????? that is the point.if you want to abuse fellow fans then the mods should give a warning and if they ignore then they should be banned until they agree no debate and give views with no name calling or abuse. im not saying that should apply to other teams if they give you abuse as i would be the first to defend fellow jacks whoever they are.

The teams who had less points in the second season seemed to drop a lot of points in the main. The majority of teams who increased points, only did so by a smallish margin.

So our quest for this season, is much the same as last. Firstly getting more than 12 points. The next goal is to avoid relegation, then push on for the highest position we can.

Yes that seems pretty obvious, but like last season, it can be harder than we think. This season we have to get points on the board in the first couple of months, cause we have a bitch of an end to the season. With a bit of luck, and good football, we`ll survive to fight another season.

we can survive if laudrup can keep playing the continental style and improve in the final third, I do have a concern however and that is the amount he want to cut the squad down to. He does say its a more manageable size where you have 11 on the pitch and 7 on the bench and 4 outside in the wings, I'm a bit worried that this will leave us short if we get a few major injuries at the same time. i just cant fathom out his thinking there,

Stereo, your research just further goes to show that there is no statistical evidence for a 'second season syndrome', either in getting relegated after 2 seasons or suffering a big points drop in the second season.

That doesn't mean, of course, that we won't go down.

Very intresting thread i must say. There are some fantastic facts and figures which seem to suggest the second season syndrome is not is common as we are led to beleive.
My view is that its going to be extremly difficult to survive but its very possible if Laudrup gets a good start and signs the right players, i think we are all aware of our weak areas and i hope the club address this issue during the summer.

Intresting to note that Gylfi siggudson might go to Spurs, i wonder if they have bought him with a view to future football? maybe our chairman and the spurs chairman have made a deal behind the scenes? swans get him on loan and pay 20k a week, spurs pay 20k aswell and watch his game progress at the right club for another season until he is ready to replace VDV or Moderic ?
Gylfi would be happy picking up a fortune earning double but playing for the team he thrived for .

    Just a thought..

Interesting theory ,nothing in the murky world of football would surprise me , I posted on here about siggy off to spurs last week and Valleyswan (quite rightly) couldn't see it happening without a manager in position. At 22 though does he need to be loaned out to gain experience at this level?
