Here we go AGAIN for the benefit of BOB. IF you want Pulis out and every thing that he stands for. YOU HAVE TO HIT THE BOOKIE IN HIS POCKET. Oh and by the way BOB, there are supporters on this board who have been Stokies longer than you have been on the planet. So no sermons from ye.
Binge PLEASE don't have a go at us mate what else can we do? Just to note I fookin crawled into the Stadium on cructhes not so long ago! SOME I've seen still do that. After 52 years a Stoke supporter (a paying one) re season ticket I'm upset at what you said. But if that's your way of thinking and your oppinion fine. You are entitled to it!
Apparently Tony Scholes was on the radio earlier saying that season ticket sales are just over 10% down. You may want to add a bit on if this is what they are officially saying!!
Pulis has wasted £100 million. It's a difficult situation, and I'm leaning more towards B-o-Bs argument. We don't want Pulis anymore, and yeah, the quickest way to get him out is by not renewing, but what sort of position is that gonna put the next guy in? I don't want to see us stumbling our way to safety with hoofball every year, but I'm not to fond of the idea of going back to the Championship either. There are a lot of genuine Stokies who'd still get a season ticket whatever league we were in, but have you seen the majority of Championship football? It's terrible! It's taken me this long to get sick of the football we're playing now, with the bonus of also seeing us playing against some top teams, imagine how much quicker we'd get bored watching it against Barnsley and Middlesborough. Still, I'm not renewing, but will go to as many games as my rota allows. A sort of middle ground so to speak.
Personally I would prefer to have Holloway, Martinez or Dicanio managing us in the championship than Pulis in the Prem, I watch football to be entertained.
That's one way of looking at it, and I'd prefer that too, but who's to say we'd get one of those 3? We could still have Pulis, or someone similar. What then?
thats why IMO pulis has to go as soon as we are safe, then we will attract the right manager, to be honest I just want a manager to play the right players in their right positions and to actually try to win a game. Is that too much to ask? I keep asking myself
Ok official sources saying 16,500 tickets sold making it officially 12% down. 2 seasons ago at this stage we had sold 22,000 season tickets. I still think we will get the crowds to be honest but I just think the people not renewing will pick and chose their games. I also think some people may not be just making a statement but waiting to see if Stoke are still in the prem which to me is a bit crappy if that's the case. I have followed Stoke as most on here have when we were league 2 so it's not about what division we are in it's about getting Coates to listen to us. Tired of coming out of The Brit feeling like Pulis has mugged me. If we have had a go and lost I can accept that as we are not Man U and we are not going to win every game, but at least I can have the comfort of knowing we played our best side and had a real crack at them which is not currently happening. Something has to be done now from the Stoke hierarchy as they now know we are not happy which is a result in my book. I hear what Bob and Sandor are saying as regards no revenue means little return but it's a business and when a business is ailing it's up to the business owners to address the root of that problem and the root cause in this case is Pulis. I defo think next season we will see some big changes and I actually believe Pulis will either walk or make his position that unattainable that he is shoved and he does his legendary suing of the club. Things are already in motion with them not letting him waste more money last January and bringing in new staff to oversee transfers. Pulis does not like these changes and to a certain degree I feel this is the reason why we are having this bad run. Pulis is one of the most vindictive people in UK football and when crossed he as his ways of hitting back! Pulis out the sooner the better for Stoke City as a football club!!
Anyone coming in will need time to work with the players, he's got to break through the Pulis mantra and get them playing football again.
To be honest Jowler mate I think a new manager would not even pick half the current first team starters!
I think that the players good enough if a footballing manager comes in are: Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson, Nzonzi, Adam, Brek Shea (looks good enough from what ive seen), Pennant, Crouch, Jerome Etherington (hasnt played well for 2 seasons) Wilkinson (tries hard love his attitude but nowhere near good enough) Whelan (shocking) Whitehead (championship scott parker wannabe) Kenwyn (isnt interested half the time) Walters (runs all day but rarely achieves anything) Shotton (where do I start with him hes useless) Kightly (looked ok when he first came but that seemed to be when he peaked) I must say I found it frightening how hard it was to think of the decent players we have, and how easy it was to dredge out the crap
THAT's why I said Allardyce, he would work with the current players. He would probably have to as I cannot see Denise Coates stumping up another £100 million, after daddy dear blew the lot on Pulis. As for Jones, he starts playing at his best, creating and scoring then Pulis drops him. What do you expect him to do as it's not the first time Pulis does this. If you want Pulis out, hit the bookie in the pocket (sorry to be boringly repetitive). To BoB and Sandor - ye cannot make an omelette without breaking the eggs.
In relation to watching championship games or lower, I dont mind watching **** if we are ****. What I have an issue with is watching **** when were are far better! In relation to season tickets, if the 16.5k is accurate then I would consider this to be no significant issue - there is always an annual churn and given the financial climate I would see this as no big deal. I am confused though, because I thought our total season ticket holding last year was 22k? If I remember correctly there were 3 runs of season ticket sales and if so this would have been the final figure and not the figure after the 1st early bird price. I understand the pros's and con's of buying or not buying season ticketts, but for all the rumblings if the renewals are so high then the moaning fans have fitted Little Hitler's diescription of "Fickle" down to a T! For me the success of the season ticket sales points to the fact that the anti TP crowd are a minority and if so there is no evidence to suggest that TP will be under pressure given our finishing position last year. I would imagine for all the snippets of negative press, Coates, Scholes and Pulis are laughing their bollocks off!
Waddo What a fantantic piece above mate.. It hits the nail square on the head and say's everything that we we're for the first TWO seasons! We tried, we gave it everything, NOT one Stoke fan was complaining and against all the odds (paddy power) and all... we did it with bells on. I loved every single minute of it we all did. Things ain't what they were... have some more rep Waddo, well you will get some when the site lets me. K T F mate who knows what's happening the next few months we will find out soon enough.
On asking Pulis how he felt on the down turn in season ticket sales he says that the sale of 16,500 season tickets is a great increase from the 10,000 we sold in 2006 so see how far we have come it's tirrific for the Coates family and the club, the lads have worked haaard to achieve this! smashing set of lads!!! steak and chips anyone???
Waddo Someone should tell Mr Clueliss that we know where we've come from. NOW look where the hell we are heading if he does'nt get his head out of his arse!
