If they are at 17k at this stage they have nothing to worry about and all the fans that said they wouldn't renew we're lying!
Just been reading the Oatcake and it puts it into perspective when season ticket holders are travelling round trips of 1000 miles to watch 0-0 draws. I feel bad enough waiting to get off the car park for the 7 mile trip back to Stone but beedin hell people are coming from other countries and Devon and Cornwall to watch this ****e out of loyalty for thier club. One guy has not renewed his family of 6 ticket which he has had for 20 years as it's not worth the trip from the South Coast anymore. Sad times indeed!!
So , 17000 true supporters who support the club and 5000 "glory hunters" who only support the team when the manager plays how THEY want. I like to tell it how it is. Sorry to upset 99.5% of this board
And you my friend have been brainwashed, enjoy the utter ****e and dont forget to keep pumping money in for them to start championship players and keep £150 million on the bench. I like to tell it like it is also pal, I supported stoke and went to every home game even when they were relegated into the third tier pal so im actually the opposite of a glory hunter as im not going to be going when they are at their peak.
I dont think you can say that you are a true supporter or not by the fact that people have renewed or not. I know for a fact that a large proportion of season ticket holders last season were not tickets holders from the championship and the 1st premier season! I would argue that a large proportion of Stoke season ticket holders could now be classed a "glory hunters" as they hadnt held a season ticket in the lower leagues!
Didn't say i liked the ****e , but i do support the team .End of . Must be better ways of showing your displeasure than not going next season. You should've taken notice of the editorial in the front of last weeks Oatcake . It was aimed at "fans" like you
name a way????????????????????????????, ive thought about it long and hard there is no other way, I wont sit and boo the team like a lot of "fans" are..........., im just not being taken for a mug. It isnt like I have done it as soon as we have been playing badly, we have been poor for 2 seasons now and it wont change until he has gone and whats the point in shelling £400 out plus travel, beers etc for something which I am not enjoying it. Just because im not renewing my ticket doesnt make me any less of a fan, infact in some ways it makes me more of one. YOU cant really complain though if you are choosing to go and pay lots of money so you must be happy with how things are going and for that you have my deepest sympathies
Or 5000 fans making a statement like a few of us on here to the Chairman that Pulis is ruining our beloved club!
Lol - eveyone is entitled to their opinion and yours holds as much value as everyone else one here. You shouldnt make sweeping statements about people who you dont know directly and whilst I wont go into to much detail I have been an avid and dedicated fan from the lower leagues, always had season tickets, taken my children as babies, sponsererd the team/ground and even had a box for several years. Although I didnt renew my 6 season tickets at the end of our 3rd season in the prem I still go to the games and hence still support the team like I always have done - with blood, sweat and a lot of tears. Alot of new fans though who couldnt name one player from the our promotion team though? They must be the true fans!
Not happy in the slightest , as i admitted in my post, but. Perhaps if non negative team chants like "LOU " or " Macari" were made , pisses off those that it should but still creates the "positive vibe" at the brit. or face masks of "the joker" like those wenger ones , or photos of pulis with the words "the weakest link" underneath , or Boo Pulis when he walks to his dug out , he always comes out after the team do bombard P coates with letters of complaint like Potts has. or clapping for a minute at a certain time like chelsea do It'll soon get the directors attention , not that they aren't aware of it already, the season ticket reminder letter signed by Coates admits that 2013 has been pretty crap so far. Don't forget that 1 ) we're in a relegation fight 2) Summer spending might reflect season ticket sales ie No ticket sales no acquisitions The crowd have got to start getting back behind the team cos we're in it now right up to our necks
Binge you have fans making 1000 mile round trips that are season ticket holders from abroad and the South Coast and have done for years. You have Dad's and Mum's that can't get their kids to go anymore because they are bored. I feel bad after a boring 0-0 draw going 7 miles up the road let alone a flight back to Europe or a 500 mile trek down South. It's not all down to being a glory hunter mate it's called getting value for money!!
I agree with this mate and have often said that sarcasm and mockery seem to gran the attention more than negative booing for the sake of booing! I think this is where Ricc is coming form, fans are now going to the game with the intention of moaning,a lmost like going to work which is crazy - IMO. The problem is that atmosphere at the Brit hasnt been the same for the last couple of seasons and thats down negativity of the team on the pitch and the changing of fans season on season, and the opposition mock our "famous atmosphere". I agree with your sentiments but feel that empty seats for the press to take notice of will be the only thing that will make the powers that be take stock.
none of those suggestions will do anything, the only way to make them see how unhappy we are is to have an half empty stadium. Masks, clapping etc will just get us laughed out of the brit. If we boo Pulis his approach will get worse as thats the kind of person he is (read the thread about Pulis from other fans). The crowd have been getting behind the team for years now begging for a change in approach and team selection, its Pulis turn now to give the stoke ans something to sing about!!. If Pulis is here next season we will be one of the favourites for relegation, playing awful football, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. The only way is to have empty seats IMO.
Reading that Bristol City fan's comments from 11 years ago has made me realise more than ever that Pulis has to go as we are never going to get anything different. The only way this will happen is when either the coates family sit up and listen or the press finally drive him out. Either way I want him gone!!! Coates will only act when it costs him and by not selling season tickets this will surely happen. plus just because 5000 fans have not renewed it does not mean that they won't be going. They may just chose their games!! Last season going to watch Stoke was the same feeling I get going to work and you expect people to pay for that pleasure?
Like i've already pointed out The directors already know there's a problem , i'm sure they are on the case Why make a bad situation worse , messing up all the financial plans etc
