And still no striker so I'm starting to wonder.

Not sure a striker was the issue today Inver

From the scoreline you are probably right supcon. It will be interesting to see the findings of those at the game.

I never normally focus too much on pre-season friendlies, whether we win or lose (big or small), however losing to Palace at home 5-0 is giving me more cause for concern than ever before. Still, better that they get it out of their systems today, and not next Sunday....

I have just this minute signed up for DAZN and can watch City vs Leeds live next Sunday. The cost was 150 dollars for a year (reasonable in today's costly world) and I have taken a subscription because Football is disappearing from Canadian channels that used to cover all the Premiership but very little from the lower divisions. Despite the Palace game being a friendly, and the score meaning nothing, the scenario will change in 8 days time against Leeds and we have to hope that City is up to the task and that Lee has a team in his mind that can win. I'm watching closely on my new viewing platform and will do my best to follow all players to rate whether we have actually progressed from the almost of last season.

A lot of countries where football is not a major sport are deciding not to spend big on the Premiership coverage. The same happened in Australia at the start of last season. They only have Champions League now on their equivalent to Sky Sports, and even then only 1 match on each day, not multiple games.
The Premier League are in danger of pricing themselves out of some major markets if they're not careful.

Not good, have to admit but Napoli beat Liverpool 3.0 at Anfield in a pre friendly........................all a bit meaningless, but also a lesson to not get complacent!!

A 5-0 defeat is a sickener for any team to suffer but I still think it's prudent to remember that we are a Championship side and were up against a proven Premier side, we have a young, aspiring, manager, he was up against a very experienced old warhorse and it was just a pre season friendly.

Now all of that has been said, it's the immediate action he takes and what players are available for selection, Leeds are no Crystal Palace, they have serious injury problems themselves, we are the home side, we may get a far better result than seems but if we fail we know who the buck stops with, if we win I'll shout as loud as anyone, congrats LJ.

Just noticed Forest beat Palace last week.
Agree though it's a good wake up call.

Yeah I was there and after 15 mins wished I hadn't bothered.
Defence was an absolute shambles. Several times we literally passed the ball around in defence and straight to a Palace attacker. Kalas was all over the place in the first 20 mins.
Webster looked a shadow of last season. Pack was exactly the same as the last third of last season - slow and unable to make a decent pass. About 75 mins in he touched the ball and I suddenly realised he was still on the pitch as I hadn't noticed him for about 15 mins!
It was a canter for Palace who looked like they could score at will. Our attacking was slow and predictable and the final ball usually wrong.
I came away thoroughly depressed tbh. Szmodics did make a few runs beyond Fam which were a welcome change for one of our midfield. However we never had anyone with the vision to find him.
Play like that regularly and it will be bottom 6, not top 6!
