Just had my two £25 vouchers today. What I've noted is - they have to be used by 31 December - they're valid on tickets but not online - there's no cash alternative The letter states that if fans want a refund on their season ticket ie presumably cancelling their season ticket, this must be done by next Monday. All I can say is, I hope they increase the woefully low stock in the shop before the new year. There are only so many Jude mugs I can use.
Somewhere in the region of £50 was what i was expecting bringing the cost of an Adult Silver season ticket to £575. If we'd got more than that then i would have been delighted, but realistically can we expect to have only had less than a £50 increase on ST's for premiership football. It seems as they are meeting us in the middle for the increased cost.
While I feel sympathy for those people that only got a small refund and probably expected more, surely you brought them knowing the price and being able to afford it and never expected any refund at the time you paid! Any gesture is better than nothing as they could of quite easily said that prices will be addressed next season.
My Dad who bought a senior ticket also got the letter saying £25. I am yet to receive the letter myself for my full ticket.
The thing is that the matchday tickets reduction is 20% over the course of the season, a £50 voucher for me is an 8% reduction. How does that work out ? They have made a song and dance about this and received extremely good press but really delivered. Dissapointed .
Im more than dissapointed........as you said a great PR exercise for the club....but in reality....we arent getting a lot.....same old same old.
The gesture is appreciated but dont treat me like a mushroom and tell me i'm getting a substancial refund when i'm getting a £50 voucher to spend on tat that i dont really want or need. Total cop out !!!
PS, as mentioned in the thread, one negative factor is that my vouchers and ST would have to be at LR by 17.10.11 to be eligible for the cash refund. I feel that is a slight marketing ploy to detract people from doing that. On the other hand there is a home game on Saturday so perhaps fair enough. Not at all unhappy. Will probably spend in shop.
The refund would be for the whole season ticket (presumably as apportioned for games left), not just the vouchers. Can't see anyone doing this, unless they're still traumatised by the 6-0 defeat to the plastic Harrods band.
So there's no option to exchange it for cash? If so, it's not really a refund at all is it. Bit underhand if you ask me.
Yep big bleedin lie all round, I've now got £100 vouchers for 3 season tickets I bought for £1300 to spend on tat in the club shop, that'll probably cost the club about £40-50 with the retail mark up taken into account. Not a refund at all I'm 43 I don't want a bloody football top I grew out of that 15 years ago!
If this makes any difference to you guys they also took some of the cost out and gave it straight to the community trust. Dont see why that makes it better but it might make you feel a bit better. Thought it was a bit weird that there "refund" is putting money back into the club through the shop. Crafty. Im satisfied. We're lucky to get anything in the first place.
