Sorry Squire, I've scratched the record. Sorry Squire, I've scratched the record.
Sorry Squire, I've scratched the record.
Sorry Squire, I've scratched...

Is that the record that people keep playing which says the only reason somewhere gets good crowds is there is nothing to do there? Unlike vibrant, 24 hours Hull, though there aren't rnough hours in a day to fot everything in?

I was referring to how many go for nights out. The suggestion, which Cityman made, that the only reason Newcastle bring more fans for a preseason friendly than we take to league games is that there is nothing at all to do there compared to Hull is laughable.as anyone who has been there for a night out in Newcastle will know.

The last night out I had there was when we won that Cup game when Kinnear was their manager. Got there early and went round their vibrant centre. The Scott monument had a Big Issue seller next to it, the Eldon Sq .shopping centre had a Waitrose but apart from that it was pretty dead. Alright it was a freezing January 'neet' as they say up there and nowt happening.

Wonder why so many of them come down for Bev races? Is there nowt better to do up there?

I must say the dramatic backdrops of 'Get Carter!'* show Newcastle to be a unique and distinct city, however not for nothing are Geordies known as 'Jocks with their brains kicked out'.

(* = book written by a bloke from Barton and it was set in Scunthorpe (!) originally. I **** you not)

Yes, no Big Issue sellers in Hull, are there? And in January it is so vibrant with coach loads of visitors on weekends out cramming out the pulsatin .Hull city centre.
Maybe a number of Geordies like horse racing combined with a piss up and come to Beverley wgen there is no racing up there.
I did read where a lot of RL fans from all were upset about moving the magic weekend from the non rugby city of Newcastle as it was such a good weekend out. Surprised they don't campaign for it to be at the KC.

Surprised you rate the opinions of RL folk...

Newcastle had my favourite road to visit , think it's all changed now
Westgate road ...never seen so many motorcycle shops on one road including a couple of scooter shops at one time and British Motorcycle shops
Could spend a day on that one road in the cafes and second hand clothes shops selling parkas, bike helmets , leather jackets and everything from the 60s.

Use to live in Bensham in Gateshead , an Area full of Jews and loved it there.

The footy fans are a bit Deluded though.

:)

Ps . There's some good scooter clubs in the area I use to visit also

The bike shops on Westgate Road are all still there and thriving. And making a bloody racket while I’m trying to concentrate on work**.

Most footy fans are a bit deluded. In fact most sports fans are.

I'm going to be a dedicated armchair fan, then after each game call Blunderside and when asked if I went to the game, say something on the lines that I couldn't make it because I was abducted by aliens, but still tell them all about the game and where City went wrong.

I love alien abduction stories, tell me more.

Mike Ashley is a ****, no doubt.

But he's a **** who actually gives a **** about football and has a basic grasp on how to run a club. Unlike ours.

He's kept his unpopular grip on NUFC for ten years or more now.

Still raking millions in each season while increasing value of the club.

Compare that to HCFC where Ehab rakes in a shrinking amount of tv money millions while club value and size shrinks on a weekly basis.

The former is a businessman, the latter a deluded, arrogant, spoilt, clueless daddy's boy.
