Wherever we finish at season's end one thing is for certain, most of the senior players plus MA himself will be out of contract. I think the only ones maybe still left on the books will be Old Adam Barratt, Davies, Martin, Linganzi, Dack and Cody. Plus Fish? ( a long term injury) So there will be an almost blank canvas for any incoming new coach. Will he be able to afford a nice set of oil paints or only some wishy washy watercolours to paint a new picture?
We might be sitting in 12th place right now - BUT We have played a few games more than most ( 7 more than Crawley ) - I suspect that when others 'catch up' we may be in 16th position. What worries me more is that we have yet to play 7 of the teams (currently) above us. If we replicate the 2nd half performance of Wednesday we will definitely lose ALL 7 games. That would leave us with 7 games from which we would need a minimum of 12 points ( assuming 50 might be enough ) What worries me most is there is NO way we will get ANY points if we replicate the second half v Sheffield, where we put in an "honest shift" - where our our attacking performance wasn't "rubbish" and where the lads "are working hard" ......not my words - but those of Taylor We need to ensure we have enough points to placate those of us who are satisfied with mediocrity ( thankyou BSG for the word ) - before we have to face Shrewsbury on the final day - I remember Wycombe all too well
butlershead Post No.50 is still here - in all its' glory ! edit - I knew I should have quoted your post !
It's ok I'd seen the now edited post. So despite the earlier apology this is the second unfounded dig at me in 24hrs. Freedom of speech fair enough but sorry i'm not here to be constantly insulted without just reason. Especially as i had not made any comment on this thread or its post and certainly never deleted it as accused.
I can see us going down to be honest. We've lost our way, no inspiration, he's played a few of the youngsters (as requested by brb) but look very average.
We will be alright, if you discount Martin Allens time at the start of the season are points per game ratio puts us comfy mid table even with this current poor run
Well we finished 17th with 53 pts equal with Colchester. I was close with my predication of 16 th place. Was not impressed with the new signings this season so hopefully better signings next season or we will be even lower.
