Our GA is starting to look much more respectable. 6 clean sheets and just 4 conceded from 9 league games since the turn of the year. We've now got the 2nd best defensive record in the league (Utd and City are joint 1st) and whilst I doubt we'll match last season's thrift, considering how many injury problems we've had to defensive players we've done superbly well to turn it around at the back.
Have you been listening to talksport tonight, cundy has really laid into Poch. He normally reserves that kind of stuff for us, but he still managed to drag up some support from spurs fans saying poch not good enough. Seemed harsh
Cun*y is plank-ton who having played for both Chelsky and Spurs when both were meh, thinks he has some kind of omnipotent football knowledge. < move along, nothing to see here >
Being honest I was just tying to get a nibble but fair play you saw through my subtlety. Good luck for rest of season
That's my standard response to anything involving TalkBALLS, given they make people who judge players' real-life quality by their FIFA rating look insightful.
If only we had said that English teams would fear us in the remaining CL games. I got N pages and some classic Historypool lectures on a certain board merely for claiming all the remaining clubs would fear much more the club who turns over / had turned over one/both of last years CL finalists ...
So, 3 weeks to contemplate Battle of the Bridge 2. Spurs only want to avoid a loss, with the Citeh game coming not long after. How both may view this will also be shaped after next weekend, when Spurs fate in the FA Cup and Chelsky similar + CL will be decided. Whatever happens before, and whoever the ref is, the squad need to prep up for likely attempts by the vermin to rile up a repeat of 2016.
As you say, a draw will do nicely. We need to get as far away from the battle mentality as it is possible. And so I’d be playing as many ‘new’ players as we can realistically, with starts for Lucas, Sissoko, Aurier and maybe even Llorente. Mousa, Dele, Dier and maybe Lamela would be my principal concerns as the victims of Chav winding up. Having a fully fit, calm Toby back would be a real plus, although unless he makes the Swansea game, there’s little chance of that unfortunately.
Thinking ahead with kane likely to be out for a few games poch has a decision to make if he plays llorente surely he has to pick lucas moura to play to his strengths and get the crosses in .Or does he play with sonny up front like he did when Kane came off injured ,time will tell
Just win the last 7 games then and everything will be hunky dory providing Kane scores more than 7 in the last two matches. RCL= when he reads this.
We get to that part of the season where we can see the likely final points total. Repeat the results of the remaining games like for like and Spurs will finish the season with 79 pts. If you had told me that was highly likely at the start of the season, when including the Wembley factor, the Mancs summer spending sprees etc, I would have laughed at you.
Sneaking back to the UK under the radar for the Citeh, Brighton and Manure matches, whilst his associates scour the African bush for me
PL (like for like with 2016-17 after 32 games) : Pts = -7 , GF = -14, GA = +3. Harrumph on the GF/GA today.
