So to be clear: Away In BC hasn't given a forecast for Barnsley v Reading. That's a 3pm kick-off, so I'll take any forecast posted before that time. I've put Ron's joker on Barnsley V Reading. If that's NOT right, I'll take any amendment posted before 12:30 if he instead opts for one of the early kick-offs at Bradford or Northampton games or 3pm for any other game. All of us have gone for a home win for Northampton except Ron, who expects a draw. We've also all gone for a home win for Exeter except Joe, who's gone for an away win for Port Vale. Have you extended the "Argyle Never To Lose" forecasting principle to "Exeter Never To Win" Joe? Don't forget we may be Exeter's arch enemy but Portsmouth are ours. Other than those, there's a fair spread of opinion i.e. we haven't a clue. A home win for Barnsley gets 4 jokers and an away win for Cardiff 2 while the rest are singletons. If Argyle are to get a result at Luton, it may be that there's an early storm to weather, which is perhaps why we've got three times over 40 minutes. Just as a matter of interest, this is the distribution of League 1 goals in 15 minute segments so far this season. The first 15 minutes after half-time is interesting - the beneficial effects of managers' pep talks of being half asleep after a 15 minute sit-down... we'll never know. None of that's the not the same as first goals of course.....
BC.....have you not been online since posting your prediction.....or don't you bother to read old posts.......
well Not distant my argyle always win and exeter alway s lose worked this time.. What a game today a lot going on as i watched this one for a change.. entertaining i must say.. great result..
I can understand the foreign contestants not going for a win for the greens but 3 of the suposed home contingent not doing so?????? Shocking although consistant by a couple. I'm with you Joe.
I know you’re joking Sensible, but on my defence, with the advantage of seeing Argyle in person, I’ve been saying from the opening day that this Argyle side would do well. Some haven’t been listening….. hopefully this will convince them. We’ve bought in good young players and Cleverley seems to know what he’s doing. We’ve had so many changes in personnel that it was bound to take a while to bed in. There were only three from last season in the 11 yesterday. I felt very confident we’d get something at Luton and this time around I’d watered down an expected win to a draw rather than an expected defeat uprated, which was often the case last year. Luton are still getting Premier League parachute payments after all. The continual injuries are worrying. Caleb Watts is an absolute gem despite his dodgy origins! Hard working, skilful, and with a whiff of the Devil about him. His goal against Stockport was superb - one of those that forces a sharp-intake-of-breath on you. I hope whatever happened isn’t serious. It also now seems that Szucs was unavailable yesterday, which makes Joe Edwards‘ red card more concerning.
Disappointing if Szucs is injured.....we're being told that it's the new era of the long throw in (MOTD Brentford match) .....and Szucs is our man for that.
notDistant.....could I draw your attention to the Leyton O...1-1...Bolton result which I got correct (3pts).
Here is the match text for the next round. This kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday 20th September. Blackpool - Barnsley Bolton Wanderers - Wigan Athletic Lincoln City - Luton Town Cardiff City - Bradford City Doncaster Rovers - AFC Wimbledon Huddersfield Town - Burton Albion Plymouth Argyle - Peterborough United Port Vale - Mansfield Town Reading - Leyton Orient Rotherham United - Stockport County Stevenage - Exeter City Wycombe Wanderers - Northampton Town Goal Totals will be on. As always, you don't need to tot up your own totals as I do it for you anyway unless you (or rather Excel does) but if you have masochistic tendencies, please carry on. I'm sure you've memorised the rules but just in case: Even more occasionally there may be 5 points for the total number of goals scored in the predicted league matches.
Also the league table should show me moving from 65pts +12pts to 77pts total. Your table shows me going from 65pts + only 5pts to 70pts....?
well done Sensible in a few weeks i think they all may be predicting wins for us ... why not we are starting to pick up now and i dont like doing a draw for us or exeter i only have two visions for those scores.. i may feel a bit generous and give exeter a draw one day..
