Ahead for the first time this season for all of 4 minutes Our left sided defending Is Ralls colour blind
Ok what to make of that? Hull were poor defensively and other teams would have been all over them but City were even worse. To a man the back 4 were poor. Chambers and Collins particularly. City had sufficient openings in the second half but lacked quality and composure. The failure to sign a pair of competent strikers is hurting us. Kanga today one on one The lack of basic skills like keeping possession and passing to a blue shirt are so apparent as is the complete lack of pace in the team. I lost count of the number of times Ralls in particular but Robertson and Colwill passed to a Hull player. The lack of players with pace is a real issue. Watching Plymouth players last night tearing forward was eye opening. It’s becoming harder and harder to see light at the end of the tunnel. The manager position is one thing but the poor standard of the players is more concerning.
I haven't seen any of today's game but thought for weeks that our players are poor. There is no grit, no inspiration, no leader. When Warnock arrived he brought in Samba and Hoilett to instantly give organisation, character, direction and backbone. I can't see whoever is our new manager doing that. Unless something radical changes Div. 1 here we come.
Sadly it’s been coming for the last few seasons. In the penultimate season we had to rely on Readings’ points deduction. Last we relied on set piece goals and a freakish number of last gasp goals. It was that basic. This season is potentially just a season too far. It’s reminiscent of the seasons after Scoular when City escaped relegation season after season until it couldn’t be avoided in 1975. The way this football club is run is not only embarrassingly incompetent it’s bordering on negligent; the club owes its fans (who are it’s absolute lifeblood) a lot more than they are giving.
You're right. Of course you're right and everyone can see it. I was reading a piece by Psycho Perry who was saying exactly the same. The most frustrating element of the situation is that we have a possessive control freak of an owner that sees the club as his property and has no understanding and consequently, no empathy for the feelings of the fans. Unfortunately, with people like that, the more criticism they get, the more they dig their heels in. Like you, I can't see a way forward until he opens his mind. If course, the longer this goes on for, the more we'll continue to make good players bad by demotivating them. We can blame all the managers but it's crystal clear where the real problem is. Yours despondently (temporary) Clingo
Ok guys, sun is going to my head most probably but (I know I've mentioned this before) last season Boro literally had 2 points after 7 games, so not amazingly different to us. I genuinely DO think that we've suffered some serious bad luck to go along with some admittedly poor defending and finishing, certainly results look far worse than they should as a result of some of that awful luck. I'm still totally convinced that the squad has enough about it to steer us well clear of relegation, we just need some players to urgently find their groove!!
Just no. We will know for certain when you realise and concede this is a poor squad with some awful players , some past their best and about 3 or 4 decent. This could be a record points low.
I'm ever the eternal optimist Hilts... I know I've seen far far worse teams and squads in our beloved shirt. I just believe the current rabble need some decent organisation is all, oh and lessons in concentration of course
I agree we've seen worse teams and squads wearing the City shirt, but other teams/squads have moved on since then - we just haven't. Comparatively, we're stuck in a rut, whereas those around us in this division (as well as those who've just gone up) have changed gear due to effective management, recruitment and coaching. We'll go nowhere until that changes - except maybe downwards.
