“Yes, I think it will,” he replied when asked if a top six finish would require overachieving with what he has at hand.

“We’ve had one window. We haven’t spent any money, we’ve made a profit in transfer fees. We’re not going to jump from 13th to winning the league. I have to be realistic. We want to put foundations in place. We probably need another two windows to get the squad where we’d be happy with it in terms of the strength and depth.

    That's fair enough in itself.
But transfer windows are tricky when it comes to strengthening and holding on to the good players you want to keep.

And of course this amounts to a prediction of promotion more likely in 2023-24 than this season.
Personally I'm willing to trust Garner and wait that long.
I'm not sure now many others feel the same. I hope TS does.

The January window will tell us what direction we're going. If we come out stronger, with Henry, Leaburn maybe one or two others tied up on longer contracts and more options up front that's good. If we sell them and bring in a couple of journeymen we're on the slippery slope.

After a couple of early wins we have lost all momentum.

Ben Garner is not delivering on his potential from last season, and the squad is not strong enough or deep enough.
That is the responsibility of our new manager and the recruitment team.
And ultimately it's Thomas Sandgaard's responsibility.

Ignoring all the rumours and hysteria and attempts to discredit and denounce him, his running of CAFC and the competence of the people he has appointed must now be in serious question.
Mr Sandgaard, please appoint an experienced and savvy CEO and let them do their job.
If that means more changes in senior management positions, then so be it.
Why have you not learned from Duchatelet, who made exactly the same mistake and stubbornly refused to fix it for far, far too long.

For my part I'm willing to tolerate 3rd tier mediocrity for years if every passing week brings the day that CAFC owns the Valley again one week closer.
But I'm afraid I am in a small minority of Charlton fans in feeling that way.
And right now I'm not even certain that we are getting closer to owning the Valley again.

None of us want to see anything like the 2015-16 season again before TS decides a radical change of direction is needed.
By then, even if there are no more mass protests, attendances will drop as low or lower than they did during the seasons after the Fraeye meltdown debacle.
In 2015-16 we were in the Championship.
We can ill-afford a slide into the 4th tier now.

Nailed it, Lardy. "He saved the club " is starting to have a hollow ring, as his incompetence continues. Micromanagent isn't working, and few if any have any faith in his approach. One example- my son has a S/T but was going to go on a freebie on Saturday with a group of friends, as one of them is a NHS worker who got a bundle of freebies, so he would have been counted twice in the attendance figures. The price of tickets is ludicrous, and dishing out freebies like confetti is taking the pi55 out of paying fans. Now that his Plan B is failing (breaking even in L1), what happens next is anyone's guess.

It is a great pity, that Thomas Sandgaard did save CAFC from the pond life Southall, Elliott & Farnell - but Sandgaard himself is now proving to be a poor steward of the Club.
I don't want to say that, but since the end of the summer it can no longer be denied.

In a different way (and maybe for different reasons) he is making some of the same mistakes Duchatelet made.
And unfortunately he seems stubborn and unwilling to acknowledge his failings, just as Duchatelet was.
He should not be CEO. The Club is crying out for an experienced football man.

I have done my best to support and defend TS, and I will always be grateful that he rescued CAFC from ESI and expulsion from the leagues.
I'm not calling for him to go.
But the Club - stripped of all its material assets - is in a horribly vulnerable position.
If Sandgaard continues to behave as he is doing, he himself is worsening our position, not healing it.

Passing it around the back four. We give the opposition plenty of time to get everyone behind the ball in the meantime.

Apparently the full fans forum minutes are out this week.

There will also be a Ben Garner Q&A.

    <laugh>

When I first saw this I thought CAFC was being evicted.
But I understand it's something to do with Youtubers?

Don't recall them covering the badge before.
But it's Roland's stadium. He can do what he wants with it.

I wasn't aware the caterers were not coping at the Valley.
Then again I never buy anything while in the stadium.

The event organisers covered the badge without telling the Club they were going to?
Or more likely somebody at the Club said it would be OK, and has now got his knuckles rapped by TS <doh>

Must admit I was miffed to see the badge being covered, even if only for a couple of days.
    Leave the badge alone!! :emoticon-0165-muscl
    Good call Mr Sandgaard.
