Judging by our chaotic summer, I'd say a relegation battle looms. Our only hope is that some of our youngsters come good this season.
A relegation perhaps. Not sure about the battle. To be brutally frank I suspect the Club is dying - or rather coming to the end of it's league history. It'll take a while, but I don't think we will recover from being parted from the Valley. Ten years from now I think Charlton will be Conference South or the league below that. Part time and ground sharing with Welling maybe. Plenty of Clubs with proud league histories have vanished into the non-league boondocks down the decades, never to re-emerge.
We’re 5 weeks behind most of the division. I hope we don’t fall too far behind before we get our first win. The break for the World Cup might give some of our crocks a nice rest, boosting our run in.
I don't think it'll be that bad, I think we'll be closer to the play offs than last year but still over 10 points off. You have to remember that the first what 12 games of last season were a right off and we had no strikers for 2 months. Obviously will depend on recruitment by I believe it will be better than last year.
I think the glory days are gone, and this time they won't be coming back. 6,000 season tickets sold, free tickets available for every game... we're a small Club now, even by 3rd tier standards. It feels more likely to me now that we'll be moving away from the Valley in a few years, rather than ever getting it back. It would just be nice to watch some entertaining, attacking football.
i find the taking of half the gate appauling. those clubs usually rely on that money to set them up for the year. also no welling - my boy has only just started getting into football. and 5 mins from the house would be ideal.
This is correct, an U23's game, likewise all the following. Deal a 2/7 St Neots a 5/7 Wealdstone a 16/7 Luton a 5/8 @ Hitchin Apparantly the first team are playing Kilmarnock out in Spain.
I always get a bit twitchy when folks start talking about fantastic energy and people buzzing to be back... We've heard it so many times before. And to be honest, any player who isn't buzzing to be back during their first day back at the training ground needs to quit football. It's nice enough fare, but is only being repeated at every other training ground in the country right about now.
I've always hoped that one day I'd see my two teams play each other, and now that it's happening, on Friday, it's in bloody Spain, on the day we go on holiday at that.
I'm sure we'll meet in the Europa League in a couple of years - if you've got a Playstation and FIFA23 that is !!
