Look at the games Miley's played - and before I go further I am not blaming the kid AT ALL but look at the factual stats:
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lewis-miley/leistungsdaten/spieler/922769

11 games in the league before he was starting: Won 6, Drew 2, Lost 3 (City, Liverpool Brighton - at the start of the year)

15 games in the league he started (in a row because of injuries): Won 5, Drew 2, Lost 8

No way the kid - and he is a child, he can't even vote yet! - should be starting every game regardless. Need's must and the boy has come in and done wonderfully well given the pressure and experience he's had previously but he's not the finished article yet. Give him 4 years (he'll be younger than Gordon is today) and he'll be quality and probably ready to start most games at that point.

Longstaff was playing aswel so the stats tell you nothing.

Miley might be capable and longstaff isn't and never will be.

Man united won the league.. Bobby Clark among others just won a cup.

One thing I guarantee is Longstaff isn't wining anything.

So we are comparing Miley and Longstaff to a team of good solid pro's (Schmiechel, Cantona, Irwin, Bruce, Cole, Keane, Ince, Dublin) and some 20-21 year olds in 1995?

Miley is 17 a year younger than Phil Neville was in 95 and Phil only played 2 games, and is 2 years younger than Clark currently so not sure how that translates.

I agree that Willock/Joelinton combo on the left was brilliant for us and is part of the reason we have seen a drop off this year Do you think Gordon is anywhere near as good on the right though. Im not sure ive seen enough of him there to judge but I think Howe sees that LW spot as his now. This convo I think speaks to the imbalance we have in the squad.

It's a tactical thing mate, Gordon on the left will cut inside and try and shoot. Same as Miggy on the right will cut inside and try and shoot. Gordon on the right will go wide and cross, Miggy on the left will go wide and cross.

Wow what I'd give to have a supporter base like some of you lot when I'm coming through the academy. Don't go to most games and when you do get in, sit there chanting loud and proud "We are the loyalist football supporters the world has ever had" whilst the true support sits there pissing themselves laughing knowing the truth.

I'm comparing him Longstaff and saying howe did have another option. I don't rate Longstaff whatsoever and it's clear the manager does and I therefore dont agree when people say he won't be starting games.

He is going to start games next imo.

Scholes Beckham Rooney there's always an argument that kids can play and this text book approach to everything can be shown to be wrong.

I'm not convinced about this manager.

Has he been injured for ten years ? Also Howe has other options, so the injury crisis makes more and more sense.... been saying it all season.

Just found this on You Tube.

At 6.47 explains why Eddie appreciates Longstaff and Burn. The interview with Longstaff is an excellent one as well.
