Figured it'd be a few of the ones I listed above <cheers>

Him or Kone I think are most likely imo but lets see. If he gets a good move you're probably right (on this occasion).

I actually think he'd be a brilliant signing he's got that bit of magic we lack in midfield.

Longstaff is the player to take us to the next level, by that i mean if we got 20-30m for him that would give us some serious cash to splash on an elite midfielder.

Have you noticed how many chances he gets though compared to most of our other midfield players? Suggests he is doing something right.

I suspect that Tonali would be getting into those spaces as well with a much higher return rate. So hopefully next season we start seeing more goals from midfield

The key to being in the right place at the right time is scoring. The sooner we've got a midfield without him results will improve.

No. The key to being in the right place at the right time is anticipation.

I was quite good at being in the right place at the right time , but the point is if you miss 19 times out of 20 it's a wasted opportunity 19 times out of 20.

Longstaff isn't a very good player and people just want him to be. Let's face it he's only still starting games because everything else fell apart. If he wasn't a geordie he'd get the Joelinton or joselu treatment.

The coming seasons will see this all put to bed and if he starts doing more than just running around alot great, but I don't think he will :emoticon-0148-yes:

BTW let's try to remember it was put on a plate for Longstaff by Guimareas

However, whatever people think about the "handball" incident it went down as an assist in the post-game stats!

Surely Longy should have won the Balon D'or this weekend - made 2 tackles!

Insane for someone who's never managed a tackle in his life before and then he get's two in a game. Outstanding!

Apart from his goal he was crap ... We'll see Tomorrow night once again that he's not good enough... Miley is already a far superior player.

How was his goal crap? Instinctive wrong footed finish into the bottom corner, literally couldn't have done much more with it.

TBH we were piss poor across the board on Saturday night, if Fulham had a player to score goals we'd have lost that game. Bar Miley (MOTM) and the goal scorers I couldn't have given anyone a "7" - maybe Dubravka for a clean sheet and one or two good saves to be fair.

Agree with the Miley appraisal though and great to see he's got his reward for a ridiculous breakthrough season. The kid is just levels ahead of anything to come through the academy in the last 27 years I've been watching and at 17 years old his maturity in terms of decision making is just mind blowing, don't think I've seen him make a bad decision yet, whether that be a pass, going in for a tackle, making a run, holding his position if others are out of theirs, - it is insane. Even saw him marshalling Tino around on the LW when he came on! He literally has the lot, decent technique, fit as a fiddle, physicality of a man. Scary how good he could be and 100% captain material - maybe not in the next 5 years but by 23 most certainly and he could have over 200 appearances for the club by then.
