I think we will win today. Simply because we have to. If we have any designs on winning the league this season we have to keep pace with Man U, Man C and Chelsea. They've gone off at breakneck pace.
I think that Newcastle won't win the next on the trot because a) A win would be ever so wonderful and usful, and b) this is bleedin' Newcastle United
A healthy trait I have learned is to give expectations, prepare for the challenge and just see what happens. Whatever happens happens.
Would have preferred Manquillo to Yedders, guess he's expecting fast movement from Brighton's attack!
Decent game so far. Brighton dominating but you guys trying to hit on counter. Should be 1-1, both missed sitters.
I know Perez isn't well liked by some but he deserves credit for bursting his bollocks all the time even when things aren't going his way.
Its having confidence when the balls pinging around in our area that we'll clear it, we stay calm and compact without letting it get to us. That used to he a guaranteed goal before Benitez. Also very rare to see us consistently pump it out with ease, normally I would be screaming over that but our tactic works, we have enough strength in defence to deal with an onslaught. Rob Elliot is ****ing fantastic and I love him, there, i said it Not moaning but old Murphy would have finished that Joselu chance. Reminded of a goal he scored last season, forest? I'm just a little worried that Joselu doesn't own that awareness of goal. Now I get why Yedders plays, he offers the outlet that allows Ritchie to come back and take the ball. Fantastic to watch but I don't half **** it watching him that far up. Think we've sat back in the first half to make way for the second. Very calm, very self-assured. I tell you they muat have incredible talent at Dortmund to let Merino go so easily, his inch-perfect passing and understanding of the game is phenomenal.
Perez has been good this season, but needs to add goals. Sadly, Joselu is looking every bit a £5m striker. He makes Mitrovic look lethal. There's no bigger condemnation.
But they guy gets in chances neither of iur other strikers actually do. I agree he needs to spend 637 hours practicing on where the goal is mind. And I rate Perez, I think Benny has told him to stop selfishly looking to do skills or make shots. More time sorting out his passing and we could well be laughing before the Jan. Window
Bit worried now, I had us for grinding out a 1-0, our attack hasn't looked particularly potent today, let's see if Rafa's got the right subs in mind
Shades of the Huddersfield game. Second to everything. It's a shame because we were the better team going into the half.
