No he isn't. His most regular position at Bordeaux was as a wide forward in a 433. Rarely played through the middle. Hence he only scored 31 goals in 139 games for them. About 1 in 4. He is utter gash up front.

We beat top of the league(to become top of the league) without paying great I actually thought Brighton looked dangerous at time's and the result was never guaranteed. We have half a team of players who have made "unforgivable" misses this season. Agree mind that Gouff wouldn't be my choice up front but he is a striker nonetheless and then I'm not Rafa either lol.
There was more to it than that tonight. He played alright.
It has happened 2 games in a row though where we've finished with Diame alongside Shelvey and things have picked up. I'd like to see us start with those 2 in CM in the next game and see how we go.

There is no issue with someone thinking that, I treat you and other likewise. It's the polishing rafas bollocks I think people need to stop. It's really unhealthy. And delusional.
Diame is useless in the 10 position. It was that messing us up going forward. Agree when he was moved deep we instantly looked better.
The initial opinion suggested that we didn't play a striker tonight. It's not just opinion to point out that Gouffran actually is a striker. Of course anyone is entitled to an opinion on whether or not he has done a decent job overall this season but as he has been a regular in our team this season and we are where we are in the league I would stick with that opinion and obviously that's Rafas opinion too. As for PL if we get there better will be needed but worry about that then. Popular opinion on here suggested that Danny Simpson wasn't PL quality when he was here. It's an attacking move though and would require Rafa making a subtle attacking tweak (as some have suggested is needed
) Will he do it? I'm not convinced.

Actually Rafa was asked if gouff was leading the line. His response was "not really he's more of an inside left forward player than a striker".
