. Very embarrassing if this is the case.
I’ve seen a few comments along the lines of “a 10th placed finish would represent progress this season” 
In truth, a 10th placed finish would be another nail in the coffin of the club. Attendances & ST sales would dwindle further, Leaburn would have to be sold to balance the books, the Luton players would all be a year older.
Danny Hylton would be leading our line in 25/26 clutching his Freedom Pass.
Anything less than promotion this season is very bad news.

Possibly the saddest thing ever posted about CAFC.
Progress from what? Our worst season in 98 years.
And towards what? A sixth season in the 3rd tier. Our "best" three players (I use the term loosely) sold again in the Summer.
One more season closer to being turfed out of the Valley.
Most stamp collectors, and sadly even most train spotters, have more passion for what they do than the so-called fans who post such feeble tat.

Put simply - in League One, you either go big, or go home.
Birmingham and to an extent Wrexham have decided on the former, which is why they are all but guaranteed to finish 1st and 2nd this season.
GFP/ SE7 have clearly set a budget that is too small which is why we stopped signing players so early this Summer, sold our best player again, and ended up with a free agent like 36 year old Danny Hylton.
As Arthur Conan Doyle would have written one hundred years ago, the main issue at Charlton is not what he called a “three pipe problem”. It’s a lack of finance and ambition.
When you then add to the mix another manager who doesn’t appear to know what he is doing, and an SMT clearly here on the grift, it all points in one direction again this season.
Nobody is asking the owners to let rip.
