The whole pre-season is meaningless chat is so outdated surely? The result is meaningless and to some extent individual performances are but in terms of setting up for the season and getting your message across, pre-season should be crucial. Tell Ange Postecoglou that it's meaningless, he will be drilling spurs constantly to get them to play how he wants them to play and you can guarantee they will look different from the get go. I imagine it was similar thing at Burnley last year.

But if we sign a player at the end of the transfer window who hasn't done our pre season it excuses all the players failings and crap performances.
Exactly right. Apparently we’re just pretending to be **** for a laugh, it’s only pre season to our supposed promotion season. Just wait till Norwich, we’re going to knock the socks off everyone and show what we’re actually capable of. Can’t do it against a team in the sixth tier but just you wait till it actually matters, we’re suddenly going to be playing exciting attacking football, dominating teams, scoring for fun. Not against National League North teams though, that would give it too much meaning.
Does it? Just means the new guy will have work to get to speed - or unlike Tetteh, Traore, Tufan, Pelkas et al they've actually had a Preseason at the parent club?
I can remember all sorts of ****e from the 1970s but I stood in Sainsbury's this afternoon for 20 minutes trying to remember what the Missus had asked me to buy as I'd forgotten her list. Harpic and tissues, if you're interested. Strange night in to be honest.
Its all about fitness, don’t read anything into it I’m sure we should have had 5,6,7 1-1 against scunny, 1-1 against Bradford, a narrow 2-1 win against grimsby. It’s not about the result or confidence going into the season
