BRILLIANT stuff from Curtis Davies. What a man. We still have the same people leading training, we're players, we get on with it, determined to give Prem League a real go. David Burns digging for unrest and Curtis playing a brilliant straight bat. 'You're being very measured, Curtis' says Burnsy - yes, unlike you Mr. Burns.

I spoke to David Meyler in Cottingham this morning and he said the lads were very disappointed but couldn't say much else as he had just come back from his holidays. Nice Bentley too.

Yes, and he and SB got on so well didn't they? He covered up his emotion very well, especially on Twitter.

Bruce had taken us as far as he could.
Im not surprised AA was pissed off with him.. letting him spunk millions on players, only for us not to get anywhere with them.

Mike Phelan playing a wily and weary blocking innings against predictable David Burns medium-paced full-length bowling.

Firstly. If we arent banning the ****tard full stop, can he just be banned off match threads please mods.

Best we've played in pre season that. Think Phelans made a few tweaks. Both CB's spread to the corners of the box. With either Maloney, Mo or Clucas coming deep to get it, all three had good games. Jako's growing into the number 1 spot. Made a good save tipping it over the bar and a few other good uns too. Bravo bravo (thats what he shouts when a defender does summat good)

Robbo and Elmo pretty much regulation, though Elmo looked really happy and relaxed.
Poor old Luer runs his bollocks off and hardly gets a touch again.
Diomande hmm. Stuck out on the left wing. Made one great leap for a header, the rest...
    Snoddy decent touches.

Today we definitely stepped it up Scrappy goal for Maloney.
Abel came on and stuck a 6 yarder away after great work by Clucas.
Tymon. Told you he was good. Anyone remember Denilson the step over king? Well Josh did about 6 today. Think if it was Robbo not Moses injured he'd be starting against Leicester.
Never has a trialist had more support than Peter Odemwingie <laugh> Got two songs already. He spent the half hour he was on laughing his head off. He's way way better than Diomande.

Non stop Allam abuse and Steve Bruce love. Phelan likes the Phelan Phelan give us a wave song.

Just heard the Davies interview driving back. No love lost there with him and Brucey. The way it goes I suppose.
Heard Phelan interviewed. I think he may have a chance of it or maybe him and Giggs or Neville??? Who knows.

An era has ended. A new one's about to begin. It'll never be the same for me, Brucey fit us like a glove. But we move on.

If they let him go at end of the season and said 'thanks but you have taken us as far as we think you can' then fair enough! But to limit transfer money even though the TV money has gone through the roof, and say on Wednesday, 'now the England stuff is out the way it's time to focus on the coming season' then by Friday you sack your manager who don't get me wrong I'm not a massive fan of tactically! But he was the only thing holding this sinking ship up!

It's obvious now SB was always going to leave unless new owners came in but the FA interest in him for the England job provided, potentially,
a nice get out for him and the Allams. If he'd have got the job he would have left without all the acrimony we've seen in the last 24 hours.

And I think the disappointment of not getting the job together with the injuries to key players and lack of backing from the board was the perfect storm.

We can't wait three weeks before we look to bolster the squad, we haven't even got full fit first team at the moment.
