4,685 is today's attendance. At least 1,000 + are Pompey fans. They have been outsinging the Scunny fans throughout the game.
Attempt blocked. Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth) right footed shot in the 81st minute, from outside the box is blocked.
Matt Clarke has to leave the field again for treatment, due to blood from his cut head seeping through the bandage.
Profound comment there 3rd eye, but one I agree with. We weren't outplayed today, but got given a good lesson in finishing.
Was just glad to see Kal Naismith finally get an opportunity. He was on fire last season....... on the bench this season. Makes no sense.
Again I agree with you. I also think Danny Rose and possibly even Kyle Bennett merit a place on the bench.
KJ seems to be testing out his new players. Match day is a bit late to test them out at the expense of players who we know what they bring.
It's nice to see a number of our academy produced youngsters being given a chance to play in the first team, and doing reasonably well, but as you say, you cannot beat having experienced players in the first team. I still worry about the goalkeeping position if Luke McGee was injured. All we have in reserve is young Alex Bass, no one more experienced. Now that is a concern !!
Cheers Woops - I think both 3rd and yourself are right - we will come up against this a fair bit. We need to remember it's a level up - different pressing in this division and definitely fitter from what I see so far. Hopefully people stay calm and sensible - tbh we are not in the least bit ready as a club to go up facilities wise and squad wise - so stability is fine this season - upper mid table would be a really good season. Like you I am really pleased to see the youngsters getting a look in - this is the season to really blood them.
