Yep, the worrying this is Page never gets short term injuries. Assume Solly will swap sides until he is so knackered he gets injured himself. I predicted back in August this would happen to Page and Solly.
The bottom line is we really should not be conceding 5 goals to Scunthorpe. Let’s hope it’s a blip and not a continuation of the previous 4 seasons of failure...
It will be the same as last season, as Royston said it won't be long before solly picks up an injury. That will leave us with 3 of 4 defenders down. I think Last season there was a game in November and all the midfielders that had started the game in August were all out.
Bowyer said after the Luton game he is now having to carefully manage players who are not fully fit - he cited Igor, KAG and Ward. You can now add Page to that list. Its inevitable what happens next, as Solly and Pearce also have iffy fitness records. Any serious owner would have learned the lessons of the last 4 years, where successive managers have been forced into playing /rushing back players who are not fully fit - Reeves and Igor being two obvious examples. Still we have a small handful of posters on ITTV in denial [or in SR's case, WUMing] about how much stronger the squad is this season As if Steer is an upgrade on Amos We have a lot of midweek games coming up, and I can see a slide down the table if Sarr and Djiksteel are our first choice starting full backs.
TBH anyone looking at a back 5 of Steer Dijksteel Pearce Sarr and out-of-position Solly would have been apprehensive to say the least, only Pearce inspiring any confidence. No doubt it will make a difference having Bielik back but his injury record is par for the course with regard to our signings.
