Funny you should say that about Les Reed, Mike. I've always had suspicions about him. For example, he sacked Academy coach Jason Dodd, end of last season, and what a good club man he was.

As you say, he is obviously a puppet for the owner, just like Freddy Kreuger, formerly involved in Ice Skating, with as far as I know, no previous involvement in football.

Where will it all end ? Must feel symphathy with the real fans of the club.

I 100% sympathise with them. As i previously said, the only constant in football are the fans.

Unfortunately for the saints fans, there is nothing they can do to stop the, what they now agree is, a fire sale.

The capital gains tax comment I posted earlier only goes to show the lengths that owners will go to make sure they receive the profits.

Unlike us, they have a ground and academy which automatically makes them an attractive prospect for any potential suitor.

On another note, Ronald Koeman now second behind Fat Sam at the bookies to be the first manager to leave their club next season.

I have my suspicions that he may not even make it to the of the season with a resignation letter in the post to Miss Leiber.

Would it surprise me? Not one jot.

Interesting thoughts fellow football fans. I don't think many Saints fans feel to comfortable when a large amount of good players leave But as all things in life, time will tell. Mike as I said before I believe you are off the mark and players will be replaced with as good if not better players. It will take time to bed these players in but I see no reason why Southampton will not have a good season again. The money brought in will be used to help set up another team under a new manager with the same goals as the board. To bring European football to Southampton. And by Christ that's a big challenge.

Possum you really are deluded ! <laugh> EVERYONE knows that this is a firesale and the German/Swiss<laugh> owner is cashing in, and yes, there is a CGT element here as Mike says, she is filling her pockets in her Lederhosen before bailing out and leaving you with parachute payments which some might say she will undoubtedly make sure she gets her dirty kraut hands on!<laugh>

This is becoming quite comic, especially after the stick we took from you pony fiddlers when we got asset stripped.

I can not wait for the next installment from the bad Fraulein and see the reaction of you SCUMMERS! <laugh> <laugh>

Possum, for true Saints like yourself I really hope your optimism pays off.

As a football fan, it is incredible what is happening down at St Marys. Never has a club lost so much in 1 summer, even relegated teams haven't had this kind of firesale. The tweet earlier from Schneidelen speaks volumes about what has happened.

As a Pompey Fan who isn't into the whole rivalry thing I honestly get a sense of deja vu as we had with Storrie. It seems so familiar.

I hope I am off the mark and wrong. I won't pull the "I told you so card" if I am right, I promise!

I have it on good authority that Spiderman has stated the following remarks about his transfer request.......'If the Scummers don't let me go to Spurs, then I am going on strike'...You heard it here first from SB3 ! <laugh> <laugh>

Fact is SB our next signing will be worth more than your entire club.

Really Banana brain? I have only seen rumours in the press of loan signing youngsters from the Gunners and a possible bid of £2mn for some has been, unless of course you know different? <laugh> Mark my words you are going down and we will rise above you again and natural order will be restored!<laugh> <laugh>

Think you've been on the Brazillian spirits again SB.

Boazinha = Good little girl is a famous brand of sugar cane spirit used to make Caipirinha cocktails.

A Caipirinha is a phrase for a country bumpkin. Probably the term was used as you turn into a bit of a village idiot if you drink too many!
