Having heard a few snippets on the car radio, with such a woeful performance with the Scummers losing at home to the Toffee's, did they lack any sense of pride and loyalty in wearing their stripey shirts? The absence of any real English players by the sounds of the players names and the great many foreign sounding names of players would perhaps indicate they are only there for the wonga. With smiley big Ginger Ron presumably on the same ticket are they just there to make up the numbers and line their pockets, rather than having any belief the the club(albeit sub-standard) they play for? The added pressure of playing so many scheduled games in the Europa League even at early qualifying stages is bound to take its toll on both belief, fitness and injuries. Will the Scummers then nose dive and do a Fulham or Wigan and end up in the Championship at the end of the season? Super Pompey can of course in the meantime close the gap as we challenge for promotion. What are your thoughts fellow blues and any passing Scummers that probably left early during a possible unscheduled fire drill at St.Fairy's today.!
Two league 2 () wins and the celebrations have begun. About the measure of the south coast lowest ranked league team.
Excuse me but Argyle have that dubious honour this evening. Last time I looked we were well and truely planted on the South Coast and we are lower than all the others. I watched Southampton lose today on the tele. They looked crap to be honest and were beaten by an equally crap Everton side.
Southampton fans are arrogant and think the entire universe revolves around them, ergo the 'south coast' in their mind consists of them and their local rivals. No other teams (Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay. etc) exists in the self-centered mind of the Southampton fan.
I discounted Torquay as they are not football league this term and Exeter are not on the coast only a bit close to it. Exmouth is the coastal bit up there. I wouldn't disagree with your first sentence though and would have stopped at the 4th word.
Meh, Torquay was in the football league recently enough and for long enough that any fan with reasonable knowledge would have at least heard of them. Bah, Exeter is basically on the coast. Exmouth's barely any distance away. Wouldn't you have at least stopped at the eleventh word?
If I have come across as "arrogant|" and "self-centered" I apologise - maybe the insertion of "some" or "most" would have been kinder or maybe I'm being a bit touchy after a 3-0 spanking.
They'll be struggling this season for sure. It's cute they got their hopes up after last year. Let them have their moment in Europe. Our irresistible resurgence and their cancerous decline as old hop-along limps after them.
Two games in and we have a cancerous decline - if true well called if not there will be chopper marks on your rear end!!!
Just seen the highlights of Pompey's tainted win with the help of two joke penalties. Plymouth can feel the same as Pompey's creditors, cheated.
I'd never see you like that Anti. PL should have put some, some fans are great, some could be arrogant and some ate too much.
Nice one......you can always rely on a backlash comment from a stripey.....regarding our past financial doings......of course.....being a stripey your memory is not good enough to remember your own financial doings
The reason I was watching it was not out of interest in the result but much simpler than that. I was at my son's house who has sky and it was on whilst we were talking about his impending holiday. If I had gone there purposely to watch a match then I would agree with the interest bit but I didn't.
